I live in SoCal and laugh my hind-end off everytime someone from the east coast asks
" How is Sunny California!??!" ( always said in an overly cheery fashion). A lot of the time it is cold and damp here and even in the dead of August I usually have a light sweater with me at all times. June Gloom anyone?

Rant aside, this post brings back memories of the two shopping trips a year that I would go one with my mother for summer and fall clothes. Always fun times that ended in a gas station snack of chocolate milk and peanut butter crackers.

I have lovely old fold out picnic table with grayed wood that I use for a dining table when I have company over ( small apartment..). I love it.

Most futon sofas come apart. They have some with really really nice frames now. I have live in an apartment with a really odd narrow hallway as the only point of entry ( windows are too small for any furniture hauling) and I settled on a futon sofa because of this.

I would say a an extremley light blue with thin vertical pinstriping of the color you already have. That may take some guts to do, but in my slightly odd opinion I think it would work.

To me it really comes down to saftey. I once rented a little house that was perfect for me....it had huge trees in the yard, and open floor plan and lots of light. BUT it was rather shady area. I thought I would give it a shot, but that turned into just hearing gun-shots every other night, finding out that my neighbors were drug dealers, and dealing with gangs hosting regular meetings on the street I lived on. I guess what I am trying to say is don't put yourself at risk just for a space...no matter how awesome the place is.

On another note... old builings that have not been re-habed leave a huge possiblity open for lead paint, piping, mold, and asbestos. All not fun, all not worth it.

I totally needed to see a transformation like this! I am moving into an apartment riddeled with 1960's "baby-green" and brown. The kitchen is the first on my agenda. Now I feel confident in my attack on olive cabinets!
