It looks like a bad idea except for the 4th photo with the least amount of books. The fewer the books, the better. Stuffing the fireplace looks cluttered.

I really like the idea. The only problem I see is an issue with fitted sheets. However, this problem could be solved with bed sheets that are a little loose.

This is a good idea. I think you should not have a coffee table if there is no need for one. It's better to have the space for leg room, pets, and smaller children without having to worry about them getting injured or stuck under a coffee table.
