Just made this recipe. I subbed toasted walnuts for the hazelnuts (it's what I had on hand) and holy calamity, it's delicious! Super easy too.

Hi Becky,

The room is lovely! Great job. Can you share how you made the bedskirt? The crib I purchased has the mattress at the same height and I've been thinking about sewing one up. Any help you could offer would be great!

Hands down the best post I've ever read on AT. Very inspiring and as many others have noted, the timing could not have been better! Thank you.

What a great post. Today I belong to the almond crossiant that my husband bought this morning at the French bakery close to our house. He visits every morning while I make coffee and today he brought back a special treat!

I also belong to the baby growing inside me as I am 5 months pregnant. I belong to future family dinners with our little one, to sharing new and interesting foods with her, to teaching her to cook and bake for the pleasure of preparing food for loved ones.

My husband and I run a small business from home. The biggest challenge for us (aside from creating a functional workspace in a small apartment) was creating distinct times for work and home lives. We've set up our email accounts so that after a certain time on nights and weekends, we stop receiving new message notifications, all work calls go to voicemail, etc. We also put in a conscience effort to not talk about work when we aren't working.

All that being said, we got to a point where our business grew a little too much and we were working everyday. We took a step back and decided to skim down our operations. Now we work 3 days a week and have 4 days off. Surprisingly, we make about the same amount of money (having employees is more expensive than you'd think!). Putting in the effort to control when we work gave me my life back. I'm more productive when I work now because I realize just how precious my time really is.

I've found that being self employed forces me to check in and out of my working mind in order to maintain balance in my home life.
