Don't get rid of your bright whites ,glass, or silver. Maybe edit a little. All of those pieces will make a good contrast against the warm stuff. Just add some wood pieces and some natural materials. That is what I did , I had ultra modern but I also love nature so I added a little here and there .Did a little editing and now I love it. I guess the style is organic modern.

With the exception of the countertops, these would easily pass for an episode of "Hoarders".

@Jin, perhaps you're not cool as you think you are. I was not talking about the chinese people. I was merely making a comment about what the other posters didn't have the balls to say. Buy local? Small business? The "Chinaman" I was referring to in my "JOKE" was any corporation, entity, or person who has moved their company to China for the sole purpose of exploiting cheap labor of those people who are working in those horrible conditions merely so they can make an extra buck. I'm not old enough to remember when that term was used as a derrogatory remark. If I wanted to be a "racist" I could have thought of a lot worse words to use than that. I find it highly offensive that you not only directly called me a racist but also two other derrogatory remarks , since you personally don't know me then you have no right to slander me. I also find it very interesting that Apartment Therapy would use this as an excuse to remove my comment. For a web site that clearly touts itself as free thinking and liberal they sure do rely on a lot of advertizing bucks from the big corporate retailers and designers. I think that is who I offended, not the chinese people. Hypocrites!

I am a southerner and I despise green bean casserole. My greatgrandmother who was our Thanksgiving matriarch(among everything else) until she passed, NEVER would have put french fried onions on our green beans, lol.

How come you haven't tried the shoe polish? Not the stuff in a bottle , the old fashioned kind in a can. That's what it's made for, scuffs and discolorations on shoes. It works good . I scraped my brand new black leather couch trying to squeeze it through a narrow doorway.Anyway I have a little kit with brown and black and I put it on and polished and buffed it just like you would a shoe and it worked.

I have never, ever went shopping on black Friday. My tradition has always been to do my Christmas decorating the day after Thanksgiving. After all that company I get to enjoy a day to myself and doing something I really enjoy.

Perfect. Good taste and I love the color scheme, have the same in my own home. A lot of color gets on my nerves and I tire easily of anything that is too loud. Instead of cold and stark I see serene and calming.

I have no idea what retailers think they are accomplishing by making so much hype about something and then not having enough of the product to go around. You might make a quick buck but you could also piss off some customers enough that they would never come back. This reminds me of the Cabbage Patch dolls mania in the 80's and all those highly sought after "gotta have mes" that followed in the years afterwards. Mainly at Christmas but now it seems to be any time of year. All I can say is people who fall for this stuff are a bunch of cows being led to the slaughter. By the way, I think Missoni is butt ugly.

I too was in search of the perfect gray duvet, plain or patterened and couldn't find anything I liked or could afford. I finally succumbed to sewing one myself. I found a beautiful striped gray and white sheet by Martha Stewart at the thrift store of all places. It isn't linen but it is a real heavy sheet and has the look and feel of linen. I backed it with an old white linen sheet I already had and it is the best looking duvet I have ever owned.

Don't knock the lattice . The alternative is much worse. We put it underneath our deck and although it wasn't my first choice, it is so much better than staring at that huge black hole underneath.
