our 2-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter have been successfully sharing a room for the past year. we live in a 2-bedroom condo, so the little guy was in our room prior to bunking down with his sister. initially he was in a pack-n-play, but we quickly transformed our walk-in closet into a "sleeping nook" (tension rods, curtains covering clothes, and a smaller IKEA crib). Even after we moved them in together, we continued to use the nook for his naps. Staggered bedtimes, a white-noise machine, and a permanently "broken" bedroom lamp (to nip late-night lights-on sessions from our daughter in the bud) have all helped everyone to fall, and stay, asleep. Believe it or not, Treasure Island (now trying to distance itself from the whole lame pirate thing by calling itself T.I.) has a great pool, and modern rooms that have recently been redone. It's right in the middle of the strip, (right next door to Caesar's, I think) so you are close to lots of good food options. The price was also super-reasonable. With respect to other prospective cute cribs (which there seem to be so many more of the year after I had a baby!), I saw this clean, simple, bright set at overstock.com (if the link doesn't work, you can search "Anna Orange and White Crib"): Apartment Therapy ohdeedoh | Good Questions: Dwell for Target, Reports from the Field |
