Yes! I used river rocks/stones as in the photo above. To save money I used REAL stones, not prefab tile, so I had to meticulously select flat stones one by one. Even after having selected smooth ones, walking on them takes some getting used to. It makes for a very natural feeling shower experience! :-) Apartment Therapy New York | NY Good Questions: Has Anyone Covered Bad Tile Instead of Ripping them Up? |

I absolutely adore your home and all the design choices you have made. I am also incredibly jealous of the area where you live! If I remember correctly, I was there a few years ago for the yearly jazz festival. Oh how my heart longs to be back in Vancouver :-) Apartment Therapy San Francisco | International #3: Simone's Gastown Space |

Beautiful home. Adore your backyard- it is by far the gem of this house. It reminds me so much of the movie Notes on a Scandal- the main character had a similar studio in her backyard. Apartment Therapy San Francisco | SF House Tour: Lisa's Artistic Hideaway |

There is another house in Mexico shaped like a snake. They must adore their bioarchitecture. I definitely prefer this nautilus shell. Apartment Therapy San Francisco | Look!: 'The Nautilus' Shell Home |

I absolutely love the style of this home because it reminds me so much of my own- right down to the couch, pillows, and choices of dark wood furniture. They've obviously gotten to travel quite a bit! I haven't been back to Asia since I was a child, but I have similar items that my parents brought to America with them. All the framed photographs make me want to take an exotic vacation just so I can take pictures! Apartment Therapy San Francisco | SF House Tour: Holly and Sean's Global Style |

Those are great! I like this idea. I have cats who like to perch on the window sill, so I cannot keep real plants there- they'll get eaten! Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Flat Flowers |

Nice idea...makes me wish all my doors weren't pocket doors! I saw something similar and less "kitty furniture" looking on the Ikeahacker website...and for a fraction of the cost. :-) Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | The Climber: Space Saving Cat Tree |

If you have good air circulation and light in your restroom, I recommend lucky bamboo. Those suckers will survive nearly anything, but I noticed they flourish when they receive fresh air. While I allow mine to sit in water and rocks, I also mist the leaves occasionally, so I imagine they'd appreciate the steam from the shower. I hate going to The Loft, but always do whenever I go to Michael Levine's. The Loft is so dirty and dusty- always have to take allergy meds beforehand! Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | LA Store: The Loft (Michael Levine's Upstairs) |
