There's no losing with a poached egg. always delivers that warm and comforting feeling with the added bonus of fantastic taste! In Peru we have a quick meal called arroz a la cubana. It is what people cook whenever they don't have the time, the cerativity, or the money. It's basically rice with fried egg and fried banana. Always delicious! Thanks so much for all these recipes with cottage cheese. I LOVE cottage cheese, it was probably the first thing I always bought when I travelled to the US, because we don't have it in Peru. Our cottage cheese there is more like ricotta. That cinammon rolls with this ingredient sound particularly intriguing. And love the idea of making my own cheese too, will let you know how it comes out when I do. Curds & Whey: Cottage Cheese Ingredient Spotlight |

Yes, I have, cause Im Peruvian! :D But i have to tell you, that would be quite something if Kañiwa became the new international superfood, cause its not even THAT well known here. Quinoa and amaranth (aka KIWICHA), are the ones that most people use. I will certainly pay more attention to kañiwa now, will try to share some recipes and info I find in my Peruvian food blog. Here's my post about QUINOA if anyone is interested on the subject http://perudelights.com/quinoa/ with a few tips on how to cook it. Will try to do the same about kañiwa soon! Thanks for sharing this. Kañiwa: Is This the New Quinoa? |

Hi Dariela! That´s a cute space, I love the book holder! I would recommend also, to have a plant around. Something to do with the negative ions, it just clears up all those wifi energies and electricity in the air. MamiTalks' Festive and Fun Corner Office DeskTops – The Best of Readers' Desks |

I don't know if all peruvian households do it this way, but in my house, fruit and veg has always been stored wrapped in paper towel and then inside a plastic ziploc bag. It stays crunchu, and the food doesnt actually touch the plastic of the bag or the fruit & veg drawer. Of course, this only sollves one of the problems, the environmental problem of using plastic is still there. But you may want to try it as a first step!
