I got the Chantal Bridge Teakettle for Christmas and I love how it brightens up my kitchen.

b77: As soon as I saw the title of this post, I immediately thought of that Smitten Kitchen post as well.

A bag of Pirate's Booty.

String cheese and half a bag of pepperoni.

My stand-by is whole wheat pasta (usually fusilli or gemelli) with spinach, goat cheese (if I'm feeling healthy, I'll opt for a Laughing Cow Garlic & Herb wedge instead) and pesto grilled chicken, with a little salt, olive oil, and pasta water. I use the famed Meat, Cheese, Greens pasta template from a Kitchn article all the time!

After constantly losing my keys for the first year I lived in my current apartment, I bought a small dingy side table off of Craigslist for $10, primed and spray painted it, bought a small tray from IKEA for $8, and voila. I haven't lost my keys since!

This was my first year filing -- 2008 was the first year that I wasn't a full-time student -- I used H&R Block online. Very helpful, especially because I moved and had to file returns in two states.

I'm also a curly locked "no-poo" convert -- when I moved to Houston six months ago, I got a new stylist who turned me onto the DevaCurl product line and the no-poo is fantastic! I only use it every ten days or so, and my hair looks better than ever. How it's going to react to Houston humidity is another story...

I bought a small trash can to hold the plunger, and store it in my linen closet -- washing it after every use, of course.

I bought the green gourd lamp earlier this week, and I love it! I just may go back for that gray console.

I'm going out of town for the long weekend too, and even though I made my bed, vacuumed, did the laundry, took the trash out and cleaned the bathroom, I just realized I forgot to unload the dishwasher and left a frying pan in the sink and now I'm overwhelmed with guilt.

Kpaige13, couldn't agree more about the accurate directions. I live in a very hard to find area, and if I take the time to write out very specific and detailed instructions, I expect buyers to show up. I already had one no-show, and I basically gave a stranger everything but the front door key.

Overly aggressive buyers make me suspicious. Recently, I was trying to sell a chair for $80, and set up a time for the first responder, who was willing to pay full price in cash and pick it up, to come over and look at it. Someone emailed me and asked if I would sell it for $50. I declined, and said that I had someone coming buy later that evening who wanted to pay full price. Five minutes later, they offer me $100 for the chair and that they can be there in an hour. I wasn't about to abandon all seller etiquette for that twit, who probably wouldn't even have shown up!

Great House Call! I have long been an admirer of Maggie and the Mighty empire -- her style is impeccable; I want her to take me shopping.
