We live in a ranch style home where the front three rooms are living room - kitchen - living room. We put two small couches in the smaller living room that we've designated as the playroom, so we can hang out in there while she plays and we can see her from the kitchen.

I think it just makes sense. Hopefully we'll see a decrease in SIDS rates. We just co-slept so we could get sleep and nurse easily.

our formal living room is our playroom too :) we have a couch and a papasan for seating and the rest is toys, bookshelves, and play space. I love that it opens into our backyard and kitchen so we're definitely in there a lot.

Sams mom - breastfeeding IS free. Pumping is not. But I was gifted a pump, didn't need any replacement parts, used reusable bottles for storage, I didn't need an extra freezer, and I just handwashed parts. Didn't cost me much.

Laha8 - I didnt see anything about moms not choosing to breastfeed? But it sounds like you may quite a journey, and I admire what women will do to try and breastfeed - it amazing and you know what awesome moms they.must be.
(Not that anyone who don't BF isn't capable of being a good mom, etc)

These are all beautiful pictures! #3 & #4 are called Mei Tais and #5 is Khanga. They may look odd but they're all ergonomically correct - much better than the modern "crotch danglers" (snugli, bjorn, etc.). I am looking for a great printed Khanga to hang on the wall as a reminder of our babywearing days :)
