The best stuff I have used (learned it from a costumer....) is called "Fresh Again" -- I used to get it from Greenberg and Hammer in NYC, but alas, they are no more...so have to get it online. They have different products for different kinds of funk --- smoke, sweat, mildew etc etc....you spray it on...wrap the item in plastic overnight and when you open it...no more smell....and it's pretty reasonable at about $6/bottle.

Robert Indiana Editions 1-9......my brother was friends with a kid from the Abrams publishing family and they had all of the Indiana numbers hanging over their kitchen cabinets.....I know they had lots of other insane art...but for some reason the Indiana's were always my favorite.

Just not on the marital bed -- the mother of a guy I once dated (until I saw her Cabbage Patch doll collection) did this --- VERY CREEPY.

My recently deceased Pringle decided to eat a green sharpie marker on the handwoven Belgian linen/silk carpet.....there was no saving the carpet --- but the dog was fine.

They turn sort of light pinkish....I used some to make succotash last night....a green pod bean would have given the dish a better color, but the simple combination of corn kernels, beans, butter and a few seasonings...yum.

PS -- They took about 20-25mins from fresh to cook.

What about creating a sleeping alcove by building/hacking some open shelving and running it parallel to the 9'9" wall about 5-6' out. Put a full/queen or even king bed on the bathroom side of the wall and use the hallway side for storage/display...or even a small fold down desk.

Then create a banquette along the 15'2" wall and add a small coffee table and a chair or two and mount a TV on the closet wall to the side of the entrance.

Use the area outside the kitchen as a dining room/office (but hide the clutter).

You might also consider using the solarium as a place to sleep --- but only if it is heated/cooled. Then you could have a really open living plan.

Agreed --- I have a velvet sofa (albeit only about 10 years old) -- and it has been successfully cleaned a number of times. There are both wet and dry methods of cleaning -- although I don't see how wet will be a problem unless your velvet is silk and not cotton.

How about one of the short on the U.S. market Miele vacs. Mine is "hot chocolate." They didn't turn out to be too popular in the U.S.....back when bigger was better....but they are still really popular in the EU.....and still available in the states. I love mine!!

I think the mirror is okay as long as you take a minimalist approach to the vanity....and switch out the shower curtain for a glass enclosure. My bathroom is done in the same colors, but in a glass mosaic tile. My vanity is a simple stainless cube with a small integral sink and vola taps.

I have a 10 year old Northland....have only had to replace Thermostat...otherwise no repair issues. Only challenge is finding a shop in NYC to repair it....I did not have a good experience with Summit Appliance, but Combine Refrigeration did a great job.
