My sister just skipped the whole changing table thing too...just kept a changing pad under the crib...I distinctly remember my mother just using the bathroom sink to wash my siblings when they were babies.....might not be the most hygienic...but then we didn't have stroller seat belts back then either. I work at home alone (well with two officemates if one includes the dogs)....I find the background noise of the TV to actually be conducive to better concentration because I kind of block it out ...and the dogs like Divorce Court. My nephew and his parents have lived in a 650 sq ft converted studio apartment since shortly after he was born (they were camping in a 250 sq ft place while they were upgrading the studio for the first four months)....It works well for them and has enabled them to let my nephew do a lot of things that they wouldn't be able to do if they lived outside the city and/or had to pay for a larger space. Did this years ago with some grey bookcloth binders....was able to get sheets that hold 4 CDs on each side, so I use them for the CD and the liner notes....the jewel case artwork is stacked and stored in a box and I keep large box sets in their original housing.....
