I just cut the cable after moving cross country again, but the savings aren't significant. I've been paying for cable for years and only watching the NFL, so I figured that enough is enough. I'm saving $65 per month, and I paid $79 for Amazon Prime. I also bought an antenna. We get 39 channels, half of which are in Spanish. We've always had our TV room in the basement, so it's never been a big part of our lives, but honestly, if I paid for Netflix and Hulu Plus, I'd be back up to $20 per month on "TV" while still missing my football, and I don't have a PS3, so that's not an option.

Well, you gave me a laugh at least. Yes, making lousy hummus is easy. Making the real thing is an art that few will ever master. Go to Israel, the Palestinian territories, or Syria. Eat real hummus, and then tell us how easy it is to make it.

Machane Yehuda in Jerusalem, Shuk Ha Carmel in Tel Aviv. Really, without any middle eastern markets on the list, it's a joke.

Wow, and the first comment goes to a PETA loon. I can just as easily find a hundred million people who will tell you that soy is the worst thing that you can eat. What regular people need is common sense compromises. We want to feed our families without breaking the bank, without supporting unnecessarily cruel farming practices, etc.

I find it fascinating that you think that everyone reading this article 1) lives in an apartment 2) has a car 3) lives where winter temperatures regularly dip below freezing. Seems like an awful small target audience.

I can't take it anymore. There is no such thing as "Sweet Potato Hummus", "Peanut Hummus", "Black Bean Hummus", or anything but CHICKPEA hummus. Hummus is chickpea in Arabic, in Hebrew, and I'm sure in more languages that I don't speak.

As soon as I click on what I think is an episode of a TV show, and find it to be a 2 minute clip, I leave the site, never to return.

Hummus shouldn't be "velvety." THIS is hummus. http://wednesdaychef.typepad.com/photos/uncategorized/hummus.jpg
