I went to grad school in Madison and the thing I miss the most is that amazing farmer's market. This cheesy bread is insanely good!!!!!

I've had good luck with Earth Enzymes.

I follow the instructions on the label and then run the hottest water I can get out of the faucet for about 15 minutes.

I live in Columbia and LOVE this ice cream shop (for what it's worth, they have great creative flavors like local red wine and dark chocolate, lavender and honey and once had maple syrup and local bacon).

That being said, I had no desire to go for the cicada ice cream. I did have a friend try it and say it was great though!

I'd totally recommend Penzey's Salad lovers gift box. It is eight different blends that just call for basic ingredients (buttermilk, olive oil etc.) to whip up great dressings.

We live two hours from St. Louis, but every time we go there we stop at Jay's. Across the street and down a block is also the best Vietnamese restaurant -- Pho Grand!

I love the newer Pyrex with the heavy duty plastic lids. Safe for the microwave, and because the lid is secure, it is easy to bring to work than containers with glass containers and glass lids.

The best thing about Pyrex is that it is virtually indestructible -- and I am HARD on things.

Here is a link to Amazon.com, where I buy them:

Is the a mobile of sorts hanging above your bed? If so, where'd you find it or how did you make it (whatever the case may be)?

The roasting pan is begging for a great assortment of fall/winter veggies (turnip, squash, potatoes, onions, red pepper) with a splash or two of walnut oil, balsamic and rosemary.

A great selection of roasted veggies and chicken. For the veggies, red potatoes, sweet potatoes, onions, red pepper, squash -- drizzled with olive oil and balsamic and fresh rosemary.

A simple chicken with sea salt, fresh ground pepper and lemon juice.

YUM!

We make a very concerted effort to recycle everything we can, including paper, cardboard, glass, aluminum etc.

We also try to reuse glass containers for leftovers, homemade dressing etc.

lightenup,

Thanks for the tip. I didn't take the tape off when it was wet. Ugh.

Anyway, I actually scored the edge of the tape with an x-acto knife and it worked perfectly!

And I'll definitely use your tip on the couple of spots that peeled up before.

I need HELP!

I recently (as in this weekend), repainted my kitchen cabinets. I painted them with an oil-based primer designed to have latex over it.

I believe it was this:

http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=219791-86-77400&lpage=none

Then I painted two coats. I used blue tape, but am the first to admit I am not a "dainty" painter.

This was the paint I used:

Went to pull up the tape today and about a quarter sized spot peeled up.

Am I destined to redo these cabinets?

This is a great B&B if you want totally get away. It's just south of Door County and the crowds and it has great small town charm.

http://www.britanniabb.com/

We went a couple of years ago and had a great time. That year, in the early spring they were running a great special that if you stayed 2 nights you got gift certificates to cute restaurants and shops locally. They have a local winery, great little bookstore and a couple of nice little restaurants. They are a mile or so south of town, so we actually walked along the shore to town one day. We went with another couple and had a great time.

It is run by a lovely British couple -- they were fantastic. The rooms look a little fuddy duddy in the pictures, but were very nice in person. We stayed in the Driftwood.

What if you did one wall in a pumpkin color and did the rest in something more chill and soothing (a nice calm grey or cream?)

I had the exact same reaction when I saw it in their magazine. If I remember correctly it was well over 4000 sq feet. I will applaud their efforts to use green materials, but excess is excess.

In the same vein, my husband and I live in a 1700 square foot home in the Midwest and I am often shocked how our house is considered a starter home or a small house. We plan to live in it for many years and add children to the mix all in our "small" house.
