Well you eat 'em!!. There're not spoiled , actually that's when they taste the sweetest and best. As long as they're not bruised they're perfectly fine for eating fresh.
Coming from the former banana capital of the world Costa Rica, Im always puzzled at how much bad rap the freckled /spotted or browned bananas get, when they should be revered as being in their best shape for a "monkey bite".;-)

Thanks for the info on this exotic fruit. Initerestingly enough, Durian looks nearly identical to "Jackfruit", which I grew up eating in Costa Rica. I purchased the durian assuming it was a jackfruit, when I opened the fruit it had a combination of a strong fruity but also unfamiliar scent. After further examination I soon realized it wasn't a jackfruit, but I was also worried this new and foreign fruit was spoiled and being ignorant about the fruit (durian) I threw it out.

Next time, I will do an online search and research about the fruit/food before I dispose of anything again. And it was so expensive too!!! I threw out $10 in the trash.
How can I distinguish a jackfruit from a "durian"??? does anyone know??

I like to grill tilapia fillets enveloped in parchment paper.
I add on top of the fish olive oil, sliced onions, garlic, red/yellow/orange bell peppers, black peppers, salt and any herb available.Oh ,and a few drops of lemons juice. The onions and peppers come out caramelized to perfection and the fish is moist and juicy.Delish!!!!!!!!!
