I'm surprised the writer didn't include voicemail and text messages. Saved and deleted voice messages, and picture and video messages within text threads can take-up a large amount of storage on your iPhone. It's a common mistake that many people make, but most don't go through old text threads and delete images or save them to their camera roll.

I think it might have been 2001, maybe. It always, always, always bugs the hell out of me when I would receive them every year because I threw them out as soon as they arrived. AND I haven't had a home phone for at least 5 years. The option to opt-out or have the phone Co recycle the old ones would be nice.

Can someone recommend CFL brand? We have a CFL in the kitchen at the equivalent of 100 watts of an incandescent but it's A LOT dimmer. It's the only light and I may have to return to an incandescent just so I can see when I'm cooking.

I wouldn't be so concerned with lamps as charmac said, I would be more concerned with computers, stereos, TVs and entertainment centers. I have my entertainment center (32inch flat screen, stereo, xbox 360, dvd player) plugged into a power strip and turn it off during trips and at night. After about a month I definitely noticed a difference in my electrical bill (about $30-40 less depending). I try and keep it turned off when it's not in use.

After contacting my electrical provider, I found out that turning off your AC isn't recommended. Raising it 5 degrees is fine for a few days, or longer periods, but you use more electricity when you return to cool off your home.

I would definitely suggest a baked french toast.. I came across a recipe last summer but can't find it. Search on here or on tastespotting.com for baked french toast or casserole. It can be made the night before and then stuck in the oven. Along with the basics (fruit, bagels, granola, etc), something warm would be nice.

You can also do homemade cinnamon rolls, also made in advance and baked the morning of.

Bacon boats; line a cupcake pan with a strip of bacon, crack an egg inside, sprinkle cheese on top, cover and bake.

Luck!

It would be interesting to find out if anyone is using a similar application (preferably free). I was very disappointed when I purchased my iPhone 3G and found out that the clock app wouldn't allow you to use playlists as alarm sounds. Is there anyone out there that could recommend something? (or has a review of this application?)

I would suggest paint over wallpaper, it will be easier to clean as some smoke will escape out the front. Painting is also easier to cover and replace (if you decide to change colors, sell, or move). I would definitely suggest installing some sort of surround and mantel - possibly a reclaimed on if you can find it.

I would definitely suggest changing the what you feed your dogs. I grew up with two labs and we noticed over time, and after talking to their vet, we needed to switch dog foods. We actually switched several times as they aged because the dog's digestive systems changed. I noticed that their poop's smell changed drastically after changing their food. Now we also had fairly large back yards and, poop is in general a good fertilizer, so we didn't really have a problem except in the winter.

For the last six months I've had a clear cover on the keyboard of my macbook, for the life of me I cannot remember where I purchased it, but its waterproof and can be washed by had when necessary. Keeps a good amount of dust (and crumbs off too)!

I worked in a restaurant a few years ago as a manager and was in charge of ordering these types of supplies for our waiters, the double hinged wine key is an upgrade from this kind, there's less of a chance of breaking the cork and you don't have to screw the key in further to use the leverage. You can see a similar one here http://www.wineopeners.com/Pulltap-pulltaps-corkscrew.html

I love this idea, surprisingly I remember my mom doing it when I was younger. Growing up in Wisconsin (just outside of Milwaukee) we'd go to this little kosher deli (Benji's) nearly every saturday or sunday for breakfast. They had the most amazing french toast and beef bacon. During a recent trip to Milwaukee my mother bought as much of the bacon as she could and shipped me some frozen.
