First off, let me say, the raw space you have is simply wonderful...you gotta love an old bungalow for it's unique charm!

It is a lot of stuff, but it is absolutely true that when it comes to a work space sometimes it just gets cluttered (I would be afraid for anyone to see my workspace where I design jewelry, although I only get a desk and a bookshelf for all of my stuff...I would kill to even have just a room to myself for that!). I think by changing up the kitchen you will definitely help elevate it to office rather than home turned office, but it is something that isn't terrible.

Congrats on the post, and keep up the good design work! I'm so curious now, and want to see your design space in person now (I love exploring new places in LA)! ;)

Sorry, just saw your post in response to the same question to "westvillageloft" about the shelves...nice work!

What an amazing studio...it just makes me want to create stuff looking at it! Also, where is your white bookshelf from? You seem capable of handling this as a DIY, but just curious?? Thanks for sharing!

I have to agree with fcresenc though...really not a fan of the stars on the bedroom wall...however, other than that love it!

I quite like the cowhide rug (in fact, if we had wood floors we would decorate with one - instead we're stuck with carpet, we compromised with a lamb hide on the couch). The outside area is so charming...wow! Very impressive place, and great style!

I can't help but think about that movie "Blast from the Past"...even though the idea wasn't that believable, it was such a fun movie to watch!

Your place is great...so charming and so fun! I really like your bed spread/duvet (not sure which it is), and the way you paired your colors. Bravo!

In case you are wondering more about said recycling facilities see the info I have found on the web below...

"Yes! There are a number of paint recycling facilities in Southern California and a number of ways to recycle paint for different uses. I did a search for centers near Los Angeles, and there are 9 I found within a 25 mile radius. The easiest way to find the paint recycling plant nearest to you is to go to search.earth911.com and type in the type of recycling (paint) followed by the city you live in. The site will give you a list of places within a given radius and their phone number and contact information. Here is a link:

I truly am impressed by the change, but agree with the others about the cost breakdown cheat & the floor needing a little something. Overall though you spent your money well!

My parents have taught me the trick of going to your local recycling place (that takes paint that people no longer want - one should never just toss it in the dumpster, much like batteries), and they get free paint. It's a win/win idea because you are saving money and using something that would normally need to be disposed of...something to think about when decorating on a budget!

You just can't beat Ikea when it comes to price and design...they know what's up...over half of our place is decked out in stuff from there!

This place had some very nice touches, but it wasn't my favorite place. I felt the smaller bathroom on the lower level looked way too 80's (with the metallic wallpaper)...but that's just my opinion.

Wood beams are what made my husband and I fall in love with the place we live in now. They totally gave the place a beachy relaxed feeling.

I don't care what 13ft says...I think this project is brilliant. Who says you have to use pallets anyhow...it certainly doesn't make the design any less wonderful. I can't wait to have a yard to employ this idea myself!
