I regularly remove the keyboards from my note books for thorough cleaning. But here is the keyboard of a friend's note book after less than 4 months use by her teenage son. I had to replace the keyboard (no kidding, even the circuit board was full of grunge) http://www.flickr.com/photos/bl1nk/2879144620/

I have been a Linux user for over 14 years. My better half is a PC user. It is nasty, slow, ugly and disease prone. She deserves better but won't use anything else. Fortunately for me she is fond of ugly, slightly useless things around the house!

The reels from the middle of 120 (roll) film. I usually have a few kicking around and both cats love 'em - they bat them about for hours and are the only thing they will go back to without my intervention.

... and don't leave any of them - audio, video or reptile - in the hall else they become officious.

Chenille, like wood-grain vinyl, must remain in the museum of decor that taste forgot.

You know what, if I was that rich and that autocratic I would also have whatever I damn well pleased in my little town pad.

I live in a 1917 apartment with quite a few plaster issues! Most of the walls I have painted flat white and on one particularly heinous wall I went all out with textured paint. However, in my bedroom I have pale lavender 'satin' paint. It does show the bumps in full light - but the walls are old so they should have a bit of character. I am also old and full of character so I also keep the light low and located with very low wattage lamps in strategic places. The sheen of the 'satin' finish works well without showing up too much of the plaster imperfection.
