As Tishc said, constantly.

The bigger question is how little I use my laptop -- occasionally, only when my iPad needs a charge and I don't want to be tethered to an outlet.

Very simple -- just mix with soda, and add a slice of lime. Roughly 1/3 Cynar and 2/3 soda -- but adjust proportions to your own taste.

One word: Cynar. When the bartender at an Italian restaurant doesn't know what it is, I'm already certain I won't be back for a 2nd meal.

A new favorite from this past summer is Aperol -- a tad lighter, more citrusey than Campari -- give it a try.

Great makeover. I was fearing one of the horrible paint jobs we've seen lately, but this kept the wood, albeit darker, and added contemporary handles that mimic the originals. Overall, a great homage to the original design while adding a modern flair -- good work!

Great job -- congrats. Lots of parallels to our renovation experience. Hope you are enjoying it. 2 years later, we are stilled thrilled that we went through our kitchen renovation:

By NYC law you are entitled to charge a 10% premium for use of your furniture and stuff. But I don't know how other cities handle this.

I had a horrible experience subletting -- the guy let this horrible mold/mildew develop in the bath, and tracked water onto the bedroom carpet -- seems he didn't believe in towel drying in the bathroom -- I had to get rid of the carpeting afterwards.

My advice: proceed with caution. And definitely stow away valuables or anything you really care about.

The before was a wonderful antique -- the after is someone's future paint-stripping project. Sorry, but I can't love this.

I never got these things -- and now that I know the real price, I never will. It's so easy to make a single cup of coffee in a variety of ways: single serving drip, french press, a moka -- perhaps more methods -- and you have better control of the water temperature. And let's not even get into the environmental waste involved in single serve pods.

For Manhattan, not so bad.

First, you need to determine how much cooking she plans to do. Does the facility have a dining room, as many assisted living places do? If so, you may only want to have a pair of burners, a microwave and perhaps a toaster oven. Also, how much refrigeration space will she require. I once live in a studio with a rec-room unit that had and undercounter fridge, two burners and sink -- this same unit would free up some counter space for other things. Also, are you confined to working with that one wall area?

Huh? Are there people out there who don't keep a "church key" in their kitchens? Not to mention can openers, kitchen scissors and many other kitchen gadgets have bottle openers incorporated in their design.

And when out of the house, I just use a key to open bottles.

dangab33 -- the State of Massachusetts requires locked fencing around pools, and I suspect many other US States do, too. Other that strict earthquake codes, I always get the sense that anything goes in house construction in California. Many homes I've visited and lived in there had things that would not meet codes in the eastern states. Of course, that could be due to lack of inspectors, not lack of codes.

In my opinion, nothing beats wood cased speakers for a warm, well-rounded sound. So I don't mind if my speakers are "visible"! My (inherited) 40-year-old Jensen's still impress friends when they first hear them.

I'm very happy with my SEBO canister vacuum. The salesman told us the motors are the same used in Mieles, but the brand was traditionally manufactured for commercial purposes (e.g. hotels) so the body et al are a bit sturdier. Plus the bumper all around the canister body (the "airbelt") is just too smart

ditto Gruns. But the new web design is beautiful in its own way, and clearly thought out. The dresser is a disaster.
