I usually add more liquid to the mix when I get the air bubble. When I don't get an air bubble any longer, it's also sip-able through a straw, so it works out well. I typically only use frozen fruit in my smoothies, as I've never been a huge fan of yogurt, but I add warm juice or juice concentrate and some hot water to the mix. It still comes out ice cold, but the liquid helps everything mix better and when it's warm, it softens things up a bit. Oh, and I have a $20-30 blender. Nothing fancy here!

For college trips with our outdoors club, we were all given a bag of trail mix/gorp for the week. It made great car food, and was a high-energy snack to have throughout the trip.

I'm from St. Louis, where we've had a significant boom in our craft beer industry. We had a party a few months ago, and, in addition to some local favorites, the Bourbon Barrel Ale (from Kentucky) came out as one of the top favorites.

Our favorite "anytime" beers come from Schlafly (St. Louis) and Boulevard (Kansas City). If you like beer, St. Louis is a great place to be right now!

My parents used to use Bartender's Best Friend all the time, and I had no idea why until I started using it. I moved into a new house with a paint-splattered porcelain sink, and it cleaned it right up! I've also used it in gentle applications on my stove, and more heavily on tough-to-clean pans. This old-fashion scrub is awesome, but you do have to be careful not to use it on certain surfaces because it is abrasive. Always test a new product in a small inconspicuous area!!
