After seeing what happened to our furniture after we had our kids (now 2 and 4), I say wait! I didn't have a rocker/glider with my first child and regretted every minute of it. We bought one for our second, and although its not the prettiest thing (I may reupholster it), it is the most comfortable chair we own and it made nursing so much easier. Visitors love sitting in it! Definitely try one out. We are finally getting to a point when we can start investing in furniture more to our tastes but to the kids, that rocker-glider is their version of Archie Bunker's armchair. Worn in, oh so comfortable, and full of memories.
