Can you put the bed in the closet space between kitchen and bath? Opens up the entire living area.

We have asbestos tiles in the basement. Very low ceilings (would not meet code in new construction) so a subfloor was not an option, nor was removing the tile. We went with an epoxy stone coating right over the tile. Love it.

If there are children in the second bedroom, and since both bedrooms seem to have attached baths, why not make the smaller of the 2 the "master", and divide up the other larger bedroom with a partition of some sort. It could function as a play space, reading, studying area with a daybed until needed for guests.

I just bought the Whirlpool corner microwave and love it!
Having very limited counterspace I really disliked my previous large model. By moving the controls/buttons to the bottom as opposed to the sides the width is much reduced but it does sit slightly higher. It holds a large 11" dinner plate with room to spare.

The number pad is eliminated and in its place is a "+" button which increases by 5 second increments. As I mainly reheat this is no great loss, takes just a few seconds longer to hold the button rather than keying in a time. It's also 750 as opposed to 1000W but I haven't noticed much of a change in the time it takes to heat items.

The delivery guys were amazed (they brought it in to unpack and set up just to see it). They pointed out that it looks like a small TV and was "really cool".

Using the wooden frame of an old patio umbrella would be a good start for a small version. Easy to collapse it and store too.

My daughter has the same sofe, and the same dilemma. We hacked it by removing the legs and plopping it in an old spool-bed frame. Added some smooshy pillows and it blends nicely.

I like this "homemade" home.
You are both so creative, I notice from Sean's site that you have probably made the sofa & cushions and banquet & cushions yourselves! Are those vintage tarps or just really awesome fabric? Love it.
I like how you display things that have meaning to you, not just decorated to fill up space.

What bothered me were the odd comments about owning a copy of "Fountainhead". Now if we submit our home we should expect criticism for reading certain books?

If you don't mind a little destruction, how about punching a hole in each on one end and attaching them to a large key-ring. Sort of like a paint fan deck and easy to add more when you want.
