I have the same tile and cabinets but my apartment is from 1959. Interesting.

The tile blends in once you have all your stuff in. It won't look weird. I second Creative License comments in regards to it

In regards to management after touching it - Dawn Dish Soap will remove the sap/oil. And don't take a hot shower for a day or two. The hot water will open your pores (not a big deal for someone who has little reaction or has a huge reaction but it can make the difference to those that fall in the middle). Basically treat it like pepper spray and you're good! They also sell products that are meant to remove it (oh and any product that removes the sap/oil will also work on skunk spray sicne it's an oil as well so if your dog gets sprayed, use Dawn.) gotta love a grease cutter.

Of all places, I found one I thoroughly like at Target. It's a flip wall calendar but the dates are listed down a column with three lined columns (multiple rows per date) you can write in. I use one column for all my soccer game times etc, another for work related things, and the other for misc. like bills or friend appts. It's by Russel+Hazel

In regards to the comments stating the need for multiple email accounts - if time is taken to research what some email servers can do, only one is needed. Gmail has the capability of sorting email for you and you can utilitze variations of your email address for different things. For example, gmail doesn't recognize "." within the name. Therefore I can tell someone my addresses is "abc.123" or "abc123" and they both come to me. But if I set up a filter for this, they go to two places within the same account. It gets more detailed but suffice to say that I do actually agree with using a junk account and a main account plus work account. I just don't think we need more than that.

Refrigeration only makes the eggs last longer, it's like refrigerating fruit.

Pythia - nothing gets washed off. My friend, who has chickens, gives me a dozen eggs every year for easter. They're no different then the ones I buy in the store (other than being organic and more yummy...)

For those saying dryer sheets aren't missed, those households must not have inside animals. If I don't run my dryer with a dryer sheet, all my clothes come out with just as much hair as went in and collects more as I wear it. With the dryer sheet, my tshirts don't hold onto pet hair as much. Sometimes I put two in a load. (It's really only noticable on my black clothes but I know it's there and it bothers me greatly)

However, I never put fabric softner or fabric softner sheets in with towels (or performance material like my soccer shorts and jerseys) and towels are always kept separate from my regular clothes so that they stay pet hair free.

A good money saving tip: wash on cold, rinse on cold, and do a full load at a time.

@Uccellini - you've got me beat! I lived in an old home that had been converted into 3 apartments. I had what was the original kitchen, closed in sun porch?, original bathroom, and the dinning room (or living room? it was in the middle of the house). I however lived in the one that hadnt been restored yet so I didn't stay longer than a year.

and I just noticed that the kitchen tile is exactly the same as the bathroom tile I had in my old apartment on B St in Golden Hill. Love it.

Wow. Way to make me miss living in Golden Hill. The houses there are fab. Is the featured apartment part of an old craftsman?
