I really wish a requirement for before and afters would be the same angles and similar lighting are used. I have a hard time visualizing the improvement otherwise. :-/ Obviously the fireplace is going to look better in the "after" when the photo is professionally taken and the fireplace has been cleaned.

@dearmisha - it looks like in the before the windows weren't just cluttered, but had some sort of framing inside them. I'm sure there was some post processing on the afters, but removal of the clutter and framing probably let in a lot more light.

Not a fan of the after really, but was relieved that it wasn't another before & after where something just gets painted white.

Benefit of the doubt, perhaps she has stone tiling in her kitchen and bath - which can be equally expensive to hard wood.

My dog can sleep on the bed, but when it's time to go to sleep I kick the two cats out. One of them likes to lick my face constantly, trying to put her tongue up my nose, which is possibly the most unnerving thing on earth.

Err, not to be a debbie downer, but wont this be hard to cover without repainting the entire wall once the holidays are over?

This is the only contest I've entered so far here that I'd classify as something I actually really really really really really really want and would use all the time :)

Can we please get a before & after of something other than a chest of drawers? Seems like an over abundance of them lately.
