I would recommend a better vacuum cleaner or hiring a professional cleaner once a year. If you don't like either option, you may consider buying a few area rugs to help reduce the amount of cat hair that enters the carpets. As a professional carpet cleaner, you may want to make sure the paint or dye you are using will not transfer from the rug to your shoes, or feet, and back onto other capreted areas of the home. I think rugs on carpets are a great idea. A great reason to put rugs on carpets is to help extend the life of the carpet. In a high traffic area of the home, many people will put a rug to help eliminate damage to the carpet fibers. A runner is great for hallways.
