We just moved into our new apartment in December, so we don't really know any of our neighbours well enough to trust them. Nor do any of our friends live anywhere near us. So, just my boyfriend and I, and the building manager, of course, have keys.

I think it would look great with other gold tones mixed with burnt reds and oranges.

Actually, most people take showers that are long enough to have filled the tub 2.5 times.

What are people doing in the shower? I always thought I took long showers and I could really only fill up half the tub, maybe three-quarters of the way if I had the water running while shaving my legs or something.

(I tested the Showers-take-less-water-than-baths theory when the whole water conservation thing came into vogue a few years ago.)

If that is the case, they should consider getting a showerhead that uses less water.

My boyfriend has one, and a few hundred records. He never listens to any of them, except Pink Floyd records when he gets drunk.

I'd really like him to go through them all and throw away the ones he doesn't like or has never listened to. But, alas, he is far too stubborn for that.

I chose "windowsill or outside planter" but I really have a balcony to work with (for the first time ever). I'm excited!

I haven't rented yet. We haven't had that much time lately to watch them, and like to have the chance to watch them at our leisure.

Plus, we download a lot of movies for free. We're bad people.

I would honestly never bother with surround sound if it weren't for my boyfriend. Our apartment is fairly small, so any wall space with wires on it has furniture in front of it, but he has made them even less visible by using plastic ties to hold the wires all together and nail-in wire holders to the walls running to the outlets.

However, I would really prefer wireless, wall-mountable speakers that take up hardly any room.

I think it fits in this bathroom. I don't think you could put it in just any ol' bathroom, especially one in a modern style, but it works here. Many other aspects of the room seem almost as ornate.

This is depressing. We're about to get a foot more of snow here in Toronto, Ont. over the weekend! I'm dying for spring!

Ever since we switched to (mostly) CFLs (I keep thinking Canadian Football League), I don't think I can ever go back. I think the extra time they take to turn on is negligible and you get used to it after a while. They're much brighter, and make my small, one-bedroom apartment with windows on only one wall look a bit more inhabitable.

As for the early adopters switching to the newer product, I think the way to go about that is instead of switching ALL your bulbs over at once, replace them a few at a time and then you won't be stuck with a dozen of them when it comes time to switch.

Also, a lot of people don't want to spend the extra money on the CFLs, so places like Freecycle could be a way to get the newer models without throwing them all away. And aren't there CFL recycling programs now? At Ikea, to name one?
