Does anyone recommend a tailor below 23rd St. to make curtains from fabric I bought at Mood? I don't sew...I'm sure it's a really easy job but at the same time I don't want someone to screw it up...thanks! Apartment Therapy New York | Mood Fabrics |

I haven't been perfect but I'm really committed to no more plastic bags! I love that it's becoming more and more of a public effort, and some businesses (Trader Joe's, Whole Foods) are starting to make it a bit easier. I started about 6 months ago but I don't have a foldup bag to carry around with me, so this Method bag would definitely help. I think that's the next step for me -- to always be prepared. I'm switching over to natural cleaning products as the old ones run out (unfortunately I do have some old ones around -- they get used up slowly -- I guess I don't clean enough!) and am looking at my daily habits to see what else I can do. I don't know if you're in NY or not, but years ago I bought a long, narrow metal shelving unit thing with a butcher block-style wood top at Surprise Surprise on 3rd Ave. It was perfect for my tiny kitchen because the unit is only about a foot wide. I don't have any counter or drawers either, but with this unit and some handmade wall shelves the kitchen became functional. I don't remember the maker of the unit, otherwise I would just tell you that. But anyway, hope this is helpful. Good Questions: Where Can I Find a Freestanding Counter/Storage Unit? |

Did anyone ever see the episode of "Futurama" in which Fry has to become roommates with Bender, who's a robot and so lives in a tiny closet? At night he goes into the closet and shuts himself off and Fry has to curl up on the floor next to him. One night Fry notices a tiny door. He opens it, and there's a huge, gorgeous loft with giant windows. Bender says, "Oh, that's the closet"... Good Questions: Does Anyone Have This Dream? |
