I bought the Karlstad full 2+3 corner sofa a year and a half ago (in grey) and absolutely love it! So many people have said it's the most comfy sofa they have sat on, and a lot of people have slept on it as well and said it was really comfy! Reviews of IKEA Kivik, Carlstad & Poang? Good Questions |

I agree people should do what they like. I've only got a small apartment so only have a few family/pet photos on shelves in the bedroom as prefer an uncluttered look. But I like to get my street photography printed up big and hang it in the living room - its great because its personal to me and no-one else has the same stuff, but isn't the same as having your parents or family right in your face! Its also a great talking point! Some people might say it was narcissistic to hang my own photography, but it gives me so much pleasure to see it and I love the idea my house is a gallery. Every now and then it spurs me to go out and take some new stuff so I can switch it over to keep it fresh. Displaying Personal Photos: Awesome or Awkward? |

I don't understand why hanging art on a door would be insulting to the artist - I have a great print I have hung on the front of the bathroom door, which is great as when the bathroom door is shut (most of the time) I have some great art to look at rather than blank white, as the door acts as an extra piece of wall. When you are living in a small apartment without much wall space, you do need to be a bit flexible and creative about how to hang art, but I agree with a lot of the other posters that it's a bit pointless and not making the best use of limited space to hang art on a chair (thereby meaning you have lost a seat) or across a bookcase! 10 Unconventional Ways to Hang Art |

I would add: hang art on internal doors where you will see it a lot - i have a great typographical map of NYC that I have hung on the outside of my bathroom door, because that side of the door faces directly into my kitchen. When the bathroom door is shut, it acts as an extra piece of wall in the kitchen and so looks great with art on it rather than just a bland white rental door! I've got the full corner Karlstad IKEA sofa as well and I can honestly say it is amazing! Started off life as breaking one long rectangular room into two square areas (living room and dining area) by using one side of the sofa to create a natural barrier. Now I have moved and unfortunately not all of it will fit in my new place :( So had to get creative - I ended up using the longer side against one wall and the matching footstool up against it to create a mini "L" shape - brilliant as it is flexible to move round if needed for visitors, and leaves space for my cool white "spacey" chair opposite. It's the best sofa ever too, so comfy... Trick of the Trade: Sectional Sofas in Small Spaces |
