The no upper cabinet look seems quite fashionable now. As cooking has tradionally required quite a lot of equipment, thus a need for storage, I'm wondering if this trend isn't hand in hand with the lavish but impractical non functional kitchens that I've also seen written about lately.

Close the toilet seat, it's there for a reason. Gives a polished look. For ease get a slow close one.

The "after" looks great but predictably kitchen remodels so often involve white subway tiles, painting the cabinets white, while replacing a few with open shelves. Would be fun to see some new approaches.

What's with the new format?! Now you have to look at all the photos, and who knows how many there are. Previously, could just look at those that look interesting. For this house, are the four plastic chairs really worth a photo and endless pictures of the sky through various plants, too much!

I'm don't understand the endless photos of rather banal everyday things, not even particularly well composed or lit.

Regarding the dining room chairs, I recall a few months ago that Anthropologie had them on sale for $50 each and seemed to gone in a flash. What a coup, if Alex snapped them up. But either way they're so charming. I've admired those animal heads in Anthropologie, almost sculpture and a delightful parody of the craze for the real thing.

Love the pairing of the subtle green chairs with Saarinen style table, one of the best I've seen with that table. Very successful!
