Hi,
I jut finished assembling the West Elm Simple Bed frame and it doesn't have a metal suport bar, it's all wood. I've taken pictures of the current slats and center rail so you all see what they look like today.

We went into West Elm yesterday and looked under all the mattresses and they all seem to have the same support system.

Hope my side rail doesn't crack.
