Hi Irishgirlinedinburgh; My risotto spoon is a wooden spoon with a hole in the middle, like this one... http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0012V3FUS/ref=asc_df_B0012V3FUS1947554?tag=thefind0000551-20&creative=395261&creativeASIN=B0012V3FUS&linkCode=asn I am sure when I bought it it was called a girasole but perhaps I am wrong! Wikipedia and Google don't show up anything. And I do like my spurtle, its so flat that it gets right into the corners. I don't have a wooden spoon with a pointed corner but I am sure that would work as well. My spurtle was free with some oats, I don't think it would have occurred to me to get one. I'm glad to see that a few other posters have said that you should leave the risotto stand for 5 minutes after its cooked. This gives you time to clear up, get bowls, call kids to table, clear colouring, lego, star wars figures off table, get hands washed and when all that is done, the risotto is perfect!!! My italian friend gave me her family tip, separately fry lots of red onions for 20 minutes or so at lowish heat to serve on top of the risotto. I make mine with cauliflower which can be broken down so its kid friendly. And a girasole is a useful bit of equipment. I got mine in Carluccio's in Dublin but I presume they are pretty widely available. Or I use my spurtle when my girasole is not to hand... For those who use disposables at night because of leaks, I suggest a wool wrap, they tend not to leak as they are so absorbent. A little bit of work as you need to use a special wool wash and to relanolise them on occasion, but worth it not to be woken at night with a leak! Use as sheets for babies, either in a Moses basket or in a buggy. Usually the pillowcases are the right size to fit the mattress so its like a fitted sheet. Lovely and soft for baby! 5 New Uses For Old Pillowcases Flag this comment	7/13/11 8:04 AM
The kitchen looks cute and airy and bright and I love all the coloured accessories BUT I echo above comments querying the lack of shots showing layout. I am getting very frustrated with AT posts showing cute accessories, I want to see structure and layout as well as pretty things. I have a small kitchen as well and thought I might pick up some tips here but lack of overall pictures means I haven't. I have enough cute accessories already thanks!
