Remove the TV and cabinet. Now how would you set it up? TV is too large a focal point as is. If possible, I'd see about mounting it or adding a shelf (or couple) that could eliminate the cabinet altogether.

Then I'd move the red chair where the TV cabinet was. Just that creates an inviting U shape to the room.

But I would also try the bookcase in the dining room as a room divider or behind the couch. Seems too bulking where it is. This would give a display area for the living room and frees up space in the dining room. Add, or make, art for this wall for an inspired dining setting.

I'd also add some plants as others have suggested. And you've gotten enough tapestry advice already. Good luck.
