There are so many shaggy rugs now available in the market. Some are more rich in color then the others and some are more shaggier than the others. Well, Shaggy Rugs do shed. However it depends on how we take care of it can we then reduce the shedding.
1. Try to put your shaggy rugs where there is less traffic
2. Try not to vacuum. Although vacuum will help reduce the dirt and dust but at the same time it shreds the fibers. If you really need to vacuum then use low suction. Instead of vacuuming, bring your shaggy rugs outside and fling it one in a while.
3. Avoid cats and dogs as they can damage your shaggy rugs
4. Avoid direct sunlight
5. After washing your rug make sure its fully dry.
