And yes, I have tried to enjoy "the process" itself, but I don't think I'm quite there yet. :D Avoiding Catalog Burn-Out: Love the Space You're In |

INDEED-- are we spending our moments on earth living in our homes or pursuing a perfectly designed home? Hus and I bought a fixer so have been in project hell and a challenging design process for a year. This post reminds me that, when the necessary things are done, I will have a decision to make-- keep obsessing, or start living? THANKS!! xxoo Avoiding Catalog Burn-Out: Love the Space You're In |

Many thanks for tipping me to this guide. I read it front to back and picked up several ideas for my first time hosting Christmas this year. DIY Modern Holiday Decor Secrets from a Stylist |

Thanks for this beautiful round-up! Love me some local-veg salad, but I let myself get into a boring rut with greens, tomatoes and cucumber. Will try some of these, for sure. 15 Crisp, Refreshing Slaws & Salads for Late Summer Recipe Roundup |

The bathroom is perfection. In the pretty bedroom, I would switch the art so that the smaller oval is above the bed and the large piece is on the (apparently) much larger wall to the left. Seems like better balance to me. Love the sacred details-- a great reminder to incorporate your spirituality (if important to you) into your home space. Professional design found in magazines, etc., is always completely secular so that it can/will appeal to and inspire everyone, so it's easy to forget to infuse this aspect of one's life into the home. :D Tali and Cory's Astro-Polaroid Style House Tour |

Matter of fact, just last week I took this risk, and it was like the room breathed a sigh of relief. It's a long great room, and having the sofa parallel with a long wall (necessary to see fireplace/TV) was making the room feel like a bowling alley. The change also made me realize I need to ditch my long butcher-block dining table; I just picked up a 100-year-old pedestal table that expands to a large oval shape. Taming the long straight lines of the room is making it feel much more homey. :D Break Free of the Wall: Sofas on the Diagonal |
