The only issue with creating an app like this is that you'd have to link it into a book publisher and then get very specific publishing guidelines from them to make it work. As well, you'd have to get the app to do all the cropping and photo editing too. And you'd also have to design the app with a number of different book layouts to suit everyone's different tastes. I don't think an app exists like this because, well, there's no need or demand for it. It's a very specific and most likely very small market for this. Besides, just as everyone is stating, Instagram and other photo apps takes great pics and you can then upload them to another source to be printed or published. Blurb will do up the book for you once your photos are selected. It's not a bad idea to document your children, it's just that an app or even service to do this wouldn't make very much money from it (if any at all) because of the low demand, sorry. Nice job on this. You've clearly made a nice piece out of something that was on it's last legs. Most people would've scrapped it but, obviously, you saw the potential and value in it. Before & After: Rescuing a Battered Buffet Uniquely Yours...Or Mine! |

Great suggestions and tips from everyone, my wife and I will have to sit down and think about this. I know painting probably isn't such a good option now, I think staining is the way to go. I like the idea of having some professionals come in to take a look at it and give their suggestions on how they'd do it. At $2 -$2.50 a square foot to refinish the floor, I don't think we can afford it as we have approx 800 sq feet to redo. I don't mind doing a lot of the work though myself if I know it will turn out good. I did book off a week from work for this, so maybe between now and then we can do lots of research before attempting any work on the floor. Should I Paint or Stain My Hardwood Floor? Good Questions |

Nice and clean in terms of the style, looks much bigger than 400 sq, probably because of the pure white walls and high ceiling. I love the look though, simple is best, nice job! Krystal's San Francisco Studio House Tour |

An easier and more stylish way would be to use some Trafficmaster tiles from Home Depot or big box store. They are like $1.50 per 12" tile and you can even grout in-between them, giving your floor a beautiful ceramic tile-like finish. Best thing of all, they're very, very easy to use. I tiled over our ugly and worn out tile floor in our bathroom with these tiles... for $75 and a few hours work, the difference is incredible. A Renter's Solution for Ugly Flooring Reader Idea |

From one Torontonian to another, well done! I love the Junction too, so many diverse and eclectic houses and apartments there. It's great to see some hard work combined with creativity and lots of bargin hunting pay off. I'm renovating my place in Forest Hill right now to a 1930's inspired theme (building is circa 1926), so when I see how others like yours have turned out, it's really inspiring for me. Nice job guys :) Tim & D'Arcy's Modern Eclectic in The Junction House Tour |

I recently moved into my place (building is circa 1926) and had original subway tiles for the bathroom and the shower had regular ones. Different shades of white for all the tiles, it needed to be redone for sure. I used Klenks epoxy for the tiles, two coats for the tiles, looks absolutely brilliant! Very easy to use, cheap ($35 Canadian) and it was done in a day (4 hours between coats). Just make sure the tile is cleaned first with TSP and all excess caulking removed (grout is fine to be painted over, caulking will fisheye though), scuff the tile a bit with sandpaper and paint away! It's durable, nice and glossy and absolutely transformed my bathroom from blah to wah! The only thing I can suggest is to use a ventilator, a huge fan and open the windows, Klenks is smelly and strong lol. Tile-Painting Tips or Avoid it Altogether? Good Questions |

I'd def do like others are saying... accessorize around it. A nice fireplace screen, plants, a big mirror above the mantle to take attention away from the fireplace will also work. Rental Fireplace Coverup Ideas? Good Questions |

Another really cool thing you can do is to clean them up (if they have chipped paint or rust on them) with a high speed drill and a wire brush attachment, it really strips down the paint on them. Then, use Rustoleum Stainless Steel paint and, viola, you now have a very modern yet industrial looking rad. The Stainless Steel paint isn't cheap though ($50 Cdn.) but it does look really incredible and it goes with anything. 3 Easy Ways to Liven Up Your Radiator |

Jessica, my wife and I have a very similar place in Toronto (built at the turn of the century, 1250 sq feet, very very old in terms of electrical, plumbing and pretty much everything else). No one has done any work on this place in years, so my wife and I are redoing each room again. I love the way yours turned out, especially the fireplace. We have a nice huge mantle like yours, so nice to know what the final product will turn out like. Great job in terms of colours and style too, a very good inspiration for us right now. Very interesting effect for any room. Mirrors facing each other though are considered portals for spirits and other supernatural activity. I wouldn't personally put up mirrors facing each other for this reason alone, call me crazy, but I do believe in it. Mirrors and More Mirrors Decorating Your Walls |

sorry, should read "worth it in the end". Anyone who's knocking the cost of this too needs to know that flagstone is expensive but you can get different grades and cuts as well for it. You don't have to spend tons of money on this project either. If you get man-made paving stones, you can do it for cheaper. Another alternative is getting pressed concrete to look like flagstone. They can make it the same slate colour and even put in lines to make it look like flagstone has been laid. Depending on the company, this may be cheaper than actual flagstone but, if not, it can be done for a reasonable price. How To Build a Quick Outdoor Patio |

I love the patio but coming from a landscaping background where I built hundreds of stone patios, I have to say this a very temporary solution. It looks fantastic but you should go all the way with this and pull up the stone, lay a 8"-12" stone dust foundation, tamp it down really well, level it off and then put the stones back down. It's going to take some work but the results will be long lasting and totally work it in the end. This is assuming you want this as a permanent patio and not just a temporary one. I'm not knocking it though, it looks good, I love the wine bottle tree too. How To Build a Quick Outdoor Patio |

I'm in the process of doing my dining room a deep red (almost a blood red) and I have to say just from my own place, you need an awful lot of light to pull off this color. My place gets lots of light and as a huge window letting in light from the North and also light comes in from the adjoining living room which faces South. That being said, red is a very strong color and requires natural light to make it pop. If not, then it will create a cave effect because it will be too dark for the true color to come out. Just my two cents though, sorry. Which Red Paint Color Will Look Best With Wood Trim? Good Questions |
