I could never be a successful blogger. In love to craft and take pictures and all but have no interest in pinterest or instagram and all that. The "keeping up with the Joneses" syndrome has gotten ridiculous, but 8 guess that's what happens when the Joneses are the entire internet.

I like the idea of displaying one on a music stand. Then you could open it to a new page at your whimsy so you're not looking at the same pictures the whole time. I do agree with scanning and printing images if you want to use them in some way though.

The boxes on the bottom look okay, but not liking the ones on top.

I agree with moving the comfy sofa to in front of the screen. Our sofa sits perpendicular to the TV as that's the only way to arrange our living room and my guy regularly sits ON the coffee table so he can see the screen better. And then he wonders why our 18 month old is constantly crawling up there!

I dunno, but I'd love to have a print of that lobster vs butterfly. The colors are deliciously vivid.

I live in a town of about 300 people...the same town I grew up in. It's 5 miles from "town" which is about 7,000. I've also lived in Omaha and Dallas and hated them both, Dallas especially. Definitely a country girl. My fiance moved here from a largish city and while he's not a small town guy he's become accustomed and smaller cities aren't too far away. I can't even imagine living in a truly large city like NYC.

What's the layout of the dining room like? If it is less busy, your best bet may be to swap them.

Forgot to add - it's easier to find the textiles first, and then pick the "exact" accent color from the textiles.

Find a color that coordinates with the red in the rug (maybe a yellow?) and then tie the two together with pillows and/or a throw for the couch that use both colors.

Please please please do not paint such gorgeous trim! I would replace the rug and do a jewel tone on the walls. Pick a color you love - that wood looks like it would go with just about anything that isn't too brown.

I agree with whoever else said that the space is too neutral. I wouldn't necessarily recover the gray couch either - I think it goes with the space far better than the more modern one. I love the bookcase, too, but it doesn't look right in the corner. If you can, I'd also consider placing the couches parallel instead of perpendicular, and absolutely float them more. You should also add in some more organic shapes, either through furniture, a round rug, round pillows, or art. A wall of non-square mirrors would be amazing!
