The idea of wedding gifts has gotten out of hand. The idea was to provide the couple with the things they needed to outfit their home. These days, most people getting married already have their own spaces and most can afford to buy their own gadgets - or they already have them. I absolutely abhor registries. I could never be a successful blogger. In love to craft and take pictures and all but have no interest in pinterest or instagram and all that. The "keeping up with the Joneses" syndrome has gotten ridiculous, but 8 guess that's what happens when the Joneses are the entire internet. The Perfect Pinterest Photo Wired |

I like the idea of displaying one on a music stand. Then you could open it to a new page at your whimsy so you're not looking at the same pictures the whole time. I do agree with scanning and printing images if you want to use them in some way though. Decor Ideas Using Old Music Magazines? Good Questions |

Totally called it. I agree with the others...when I want TV in the kitchen I just use my tablet and Netflix. We don't pay for cable or satellite anyway. Can You Guess What's Hidden Inside this Kitchen Cabinet? Design Megillah |

I agree with moving the comfy sofa to in front of the screen. Our sofa sits perpendicular to the TV as that's the only way to arrange our living room and my guy regularly sits ON the coffee table so he can see the screen better. And then he wonders why our 18 month old is constantly crawling up there! Gaming Room vs. Living Room Dilemma Good Tech Question |

I love the chipped veneer on the dresser in the cover photo. Not everything needs to be perfect. I also think it's quite sad that the author wasn't prepared to see a house with the owner's personality showing. Our homes should be expressions of our personalities, not showrooms. I live in a town of about 300 people...the same town I grew up in. It's 5 miles from "town" which is about 7,000. I've also lived in Omaha and Dallas and hated them both, Dallas especially. Definitely a country girl. My fiance moved here from a largish city and while he's not a small town guy he's become accustomed and smaller cities aren't too far away. I can't even imagine living in a truly large city like NYC. City or Country: Nothing in Between! |

I like it. The color looks drab in its current surroundings but in the right setting it will be fabulous! We have a longer than average vintage couch and it's great - two people can really stretch out on it! Is This Couch Hideous or Awesome? Good Questions |

Yes, use it as a desk. I second the idea of building a matching unit at the other end if you can, or fake it with a white bookshelf, and then paint your entertainment center white. It will all look intentional and the furniture itself will fade into the background. How To Treat Awkward Living Room with Even More Awkward Built-in? Good Questions |

I think an oval table with a pedestal would be fantastic, so there's no table legs to compete with the lines of the chairs and the shape would offset the boxiness of the chairs. Vintage oval tables often come with leaves, too, for plenty of seating. You could either paint the table a light color, or, (my preference), use a light colored rug underneath. I like the fabric, but I think it's too much. I too think it would look better with a black top and trim to balance it out. Not sure if the lamps are too tall or if it's the angle of the camera - it's really not a very good photo. Before & After: Cristin's Mod Podge Buffet Makeover |

Please please please do not paint such gorgeous trim! I would replace the rug and do a jewel tone on the walls. Pick a color you love - that wood looks like it would go with just about anything that isn't too brown. Tips to Brighten My Living Room? Good Questions |
