We use these in our kitchen as well. They are fantastic for drying stemware without streaking and no lint!

I absolutely love Nightwood. Vintage Summer Cottage Chic with diy edginess. I remember first seeing them on DesignSponge I think and have periodically visited their site to find out what they do next. Absolutely Fab.

Unless your living in a Roccoco painting, 1 pillow per sleeper. Of course, some folks have two under their head, one between their legs, and one to snuggle. Then there are those poofs and poms and whatnots that you throw on the floor when you go to bed. By that point though, your totally Fragonnard.

Really interesting and eclectic collection for sure. Love that Chinese bed--what a conversation piece! Actually, all of the eastern influences are a refreshing break from pure mod. Nice home.

As another option, I recently scored some components from ReStore: couple kitchen base cabinets and a long countertop, and made a similar storage and worktop for my laundry room.

I keep a large dry erase board in my kitchen with checklist of cleaning areas in the home. I date and check off things as I clean. Its super organized and best yet--doubles as typographic wall art!
Currently, I only have about 53 places I maniacally clean regularly, but this post has helped so much!

#2 is the only one that really stands out as a creative use of type. The decorative use of a single letter, or a word (re: "eat") has become so ubiquitous-- you can buy the things absolutely everywhere; Target, Walmart, Hobby Lobby lol. They appear in so many of the home tours here as well. Yawn. Eames chair check. Giant initial decor check. We all have them. Whats next?
Lets get creative again folks.

The design is cheery and mod. These convicts should be given jobs at AT when they are released!
Also, I agree with the forward thinkers, this interior design is a good step towards what would restore the human dignity to those incarcerated. I think perhaps a living area and full kitchen would be nice, so that the prisoners could cook, maybe even entertain each other.

Dadaesque' re-purposed PoP ArT Conceptual Hyper-Kitsch? Ed Ruscha's country-mouse cousin? Wayne is the only authentic purveyor of word art imo. Everything else is just a big stupid "EAT" in the kitchen.

As an expert on Art History and Visual Culture, I was stunned when I saw the understated perfection of the first piece. This object challenges the viewer in so many ways, to question notions of authorship, and even the nature of what constitutes authenticity in "art". Even questions of the subjectivity of gender is subtly hinted at, as the solid hue hides any distinguishing characteristics of the subject. Finally, the dipped frame is a double subversion--pointing to past critical theory which challenged ideas of wall bound art, while backhandedly eschewing that critical discourse in favor a sort of Sherwin-williams modernism. Absolutely brilliant!

Not to be all post-moderny, but hers hers just affirms the binary of the original. Worse than that, the gifts are just redonk.

While a lamp is itself an object of interest in the room, the quality, brightness, intensity and shape of the cast light is not merely a secondary consideration. An article on lighting would be more useful if the examples (all but the first one) weren't shot while flooded with natural light. Lighting design must implement light itself.
