two years ago i was damien hirst's diamond covered skull. 6 hours of spirit gumming tiny diamond-like rhinestones to my face, two nights in a row was a chore, but well worth it.

I love Camille Rose Garcia. Her work is amazing. She's a non-stop inspiration... right down to her usage of color... I've gone as far as to take in prints to use as a color-matching guide for my walls... in the last three houses I've inhabited.

While these early paintings are great, one has to check out her latest works:

I grew up in the middle of nowhere, wanted out and moved to the city. I know now what I'm missing. I hate urban living and I'm becoming increasingly depressed at the thought of being stuck in this nightmare. SOMEDAY! & Hopefully sooner than later.

Catherine:

The white/black "+" pillows are from IKEA. They reminded me of Psychic TV.

The heart pillow is from Goodwill. I found this one within the last year, but I also found one when I was sixteen or so, I cut it up and stitched the anatomical heart to the back of a jacket. I was stopped by a random person who recognized the design and was told that hospitals give those pillows to people who've had heart attacks.

The red/black is from Red Fox Vintage. I had two, Otto ate the other one. Not sure if you knit or crochet, but I'm sure there's a pattern out there.

The striped, chevron, and moustache man were made by us. We'll be selling pillows and linens on Etsy soon.

dweebgirl — i'll dig the paint can out of the garage today and let you know.

blandwagon — yes. i agreed. it's cluttered. pain to dust? yes. my thinking behind things is that one day we'll have a larger space (a home to ourselves) where all our things can be dispersed in such a way that it won't be so centralized. as of right now, we have another room that acts as an art studio but soon to be a living room, and a small "nook" off the bedroom that will then be an art space. we're lacking furniture/shelving/storage for these spaces, but when we get around to it, i'll be moving some things out of the bedroom. also, etsy plans entail rotating things out i'm not as attached too, and i'll never quit collecting, but understand that sometimes there can be too much.

babyfishmouth - not sure how to take the comment, but either way, where's this antique store?!

i haven't washed my newest jeans in 6 months. i wear them almost everyday. no pimpley ass. no skidmarks. no smelling like ass. what, do you people not wipe?

the only reason i haven't washed my jeans is that i want to break them in first. perhaps i've been misinformed, but was told the longer you wear them without washing & especially drying, the more you leave your imprint. i was also told to wear my jeans in the shower/bathtub, wring them out and then to let them dry on my body. i've yet to do this.

yeah, with the raw denim i had blue legs after work for the first week or so... no big deal.

i'm so sick of this hyper pc white guilt mentality. i refuse to be held responsible or made to feel shameful for the mistakes of my forefathers.

blatant racism? please, get a grip.

i could understand crying foul if it was a native inspired cat casino or some other structure inspired to further a negative stereotype.

what about those dog igloos and the designers behind them or the people who purchase them? propagation of a racist agenda toward eskimos? highly doubt it.

$24 cat teepee

vs.

an authentic, handmade navajo rug, a piece of art worth hundreds if not thousands -- and rightly so, only to end up on the floor and walked on by someone of privilege or who's upwardly mobile.

i know what i find more offensive.

along with your knee jerk reactions, throwing around a serious term -- calling these awesome designers racists without consideration to the thought and intention behind their design.

i'll be buying one for my rabbit.
