Regarding spilled milk: I spilled half a carton of milk in my brand new car. Despite having it professionally cleaned, the odor was not completed removed. At the time, the weather was warm and the guys told me that once milk curdles, it is a pretty hard smell to remove. Now I understand why a person would cry over spilt milk. It stinks. I had popcorn ceilings in the 1980's and hated them from day 1. Although I loved that house, that was one of the few reasons I was happy to leave it. LOL, popcorn ceilings are UGLY. How To Mask Popcorn Ceiling? Good Questions |

Yeah, just because you are renting out your property, which makes you a Landlord, doesn't mean you don't care. You might be a home-owner who can't sell in this market, so you need to rent it out (at a loss, I might add). My mom, a widow, made her living and raised a family as a landlord. It's a job and she is NOT RICH. How To Mask Popcorn Ceiling? Good Questions |

Lots of good ideas, and I have used many of them successfully over the years. To soften the look of mini-blinds, I cut a piece of sheer curtain to the exact size of the blinds (hemmed the edges) and used strips of sticky-backed velcro to attach. Easy, looked great, but removing the sticky-back velcro was a bitch, so don't do that :) Next time I would just thumb tack my sheer panels to the wall or woodwork above the mini-blinds. oops, that should have been North Hampton beige. It works better with the cherry cabinets that Stonington Gray, but when you look from room to room, it flows beautifully. Wall Color That Works with Open Kitchen? Good Questions |

I just painted my kitchen (with similar cabinets, counter and backsplash) with BM New Hampton Beige. In the living room, used BM Stonington Gray, in the entry used BM Smoked Oyster (a purplish gray). Woodwork is BM Steam. It all looks gorgeous together and all of my color is coming from artwork, textiles, rugs, etc. I love it so much. Wall Color That Works with Open Kitchen? Good Questions |

If you ask this question on a sewing forum, you'll get such a wide variety of answers it will make your head spin. My recommendation is a Sears Kenmore (Janome makes them for Sears, although I hear that will be changing to Juki soon- Juki's are good machines, too). I have also bought reconditioned Janomes on Overstock.com, and Kenmores that were re-badged as Janomes. Great machines for $100-200. (I love the one I got for $95 as much as the one that cost $200, so don't fear the lower prices) Don't buy used unless you have a good repairman to give it a tune-up. In my area, a tune-up costs $89.99, so might as well buy new from overstock.com. Best Small-Space Sewing Machine? Good Questions |

Steel wool, hot water with ammonium and a little bit of soap. It worked great on really old worn floors. I would hesitate to try this technique on polyurethaned floors, though. Quick Tip: Use Steel Wool for Floors Martha Stewart |

As a kid, my mom showed me how to freshen wood floors by scrubbing them with steel wool, then waxing and buffing them. Worked wonders, and I have done it successfully in a rental. It took a whole weekend, but I did it. Quick Tip: Use Steel Wool for Floors Martha Stewart |
