On some days where I blitz through all of the material I collect on pinterest and catalogs, I feel that burn out settle in, only because I realize I don't have some of the things that make up those inspirational settings. Then I usually take days to weeks worth of breaks from these materials before looking at them again. But in the meantime, I get to look around and remember what I saw, and see if I can apply what I learned to my space and with what I already have on hand. To me this is a fantastic post through and through. What a great kitchen! Very inspirational, too, as I'm moving in a few days and have a kitchen that needs to be personalized soon and for the next few years, at least. :) Lilian's Sunlit Family Kitchen Kitchen Tour |

It's really good to have read this because I'm about to move into a new home, where our floors are hardwood in the living spaces, carpet in the bedrooms, red tiles in the kitchen, and I forgot what the bathrooms have but they're also tile. My husband and I will make selections on paint eventually and it's good to see how people manage to decide on their living spaces' colors, so that we could see what works for us. I agree with previous posters who have said to proceed with caution. I have had such mixed experiences with H&M clothing. As a result of them, I would not automatically run to H&M for home goods, nor would I make them my first choice for home goods shopping. If there was something that interested me there, then I might, but only after a certain amount of inspection. H&M Home: Finally Launching in the US |

I second Lodge, especially since they're reliable and they've got several types of cast iron cookware options at very affordable prices. You won't need to save as long for them as you might for a Le Creuset. What Is the Best Substitute for a Dutch Oven? Good Questions |

My husband and I have been looking at houses for the past couple of months to buy and one of my favorites happens to have an open floor plan but a separate dining room with a kitchen that can be closed off (no door, though). I'm kind of sad to read that the dining room is predicted to disappear, but I know it's happening- the same favorite floor plan I've got in mind happened to be present at another house, but instead of a dining room, they turned it into another room with a closet, so that it can either be a bedroom or a home office. This is a pretty cool concept. I definitely like how the water from the dishes on the rack would be used by the plants growing below. However, knowing how there are insects in the pots sometimes, no matter what, if I had this, I would like an option to get the racks placed a little higher to avoid as much contact with the bugs as possible. Just my personal preference there. Green Style: Kitchen by Studio Gorm |

I'm curious about the shelving below the stairs. How far is it from the closest step on the staircase? Does dirt and debris on the stairs end up settling on the items on the shelves sometimes? Lindsay's White and Aqua Nashville Kitchen |
