It's murder, not decor.

If you (somehow?) love it, but balk at the price point, here's a much cheaper facsimile (in red!) from Leon's.

No.

It (kind of) works in the room pictured, but I can think of so many other pieces I would like there instead, and it's too close to those puffy, smushy, 80s examples of hideousness that I. could. never.

No.

You don't need special cleaning products!

Floors? Hot water.
Ring around the tub? Baking soda and vinegar.
Laundry stains? Try a little hydrogen peroxide.
Etc...

I like the grey and orange option best.

This is similar (although the legs are different).

Haven't we already had a vote on this (or something very similar)?

Price aside, my dog would never sleep on that. His preferences (in order) for sleeping spots are: our bed, a pile of dirty laundry, his dog bed, the bare floor.

Nice bones. Too bad about the mess and total lack of editing.

Egh. I alternate washing the floors with Murphy's and diluted vinegar (have for years) and they look great.

1. Much betters pics this time around.
2. I love the Judy Ross pillows.
3. Still don't think it's a good choice for a living room.

If I imagine this day bed in my own space, we have an extra room in our apartment that we use as a guest/pet/movie watching room that I could see this working well in (we currently have a futon), but it seems expensive for that. I don't think my guests (most of them anyway) would be well served by a piece like this in the living room. Like others have said, no back and no arms makes for some awkward sitting. And linen! I have linen drapes and I do like tight linen upholstery sometimes, but this looks like it would wrinkle and drive me crazy.

I'm not attached to much. If something is not currently useful to me, I get rid of it, or exchange it for something I need/would like more. I do have a few things that are simply beautiful and don't serve any other pupose, and I've hung onto some photos and old letters, and more music albums than I really need. I could lose it all and be okay though.

Play with the furniture placement, keeping in mind how you'll use the space.

A pre-fab slipcover for the sofa and an inexpensive area rug (from say, Urban Outfitters), and a mirror or a framed poster on the wall (speaking to the colours and style you like) would go a long way.

Otherwise, you could try to sell the pieces you like least and look for replacements on Craigslist.

Overall, I like the tone and pace of this post. The detail shot of the lamp could be improved though.

8' is not "absurdly low". Don't exaggerate to make your posts seem more interesting or emphatic - it's unnecessary.

I do find the space interesting in that it mixes furniture/accessories from different periods. This is something I often see these days, and it does keep the rooms from feeling like they're of a certain era. The photos are too dark though, and it is difficult to make out some details.

On posting in general - grammar and spelling are absolutely important. And, I don't care for the use of the royal we.
