Oh boy, you've had a lot of help! Here's my 2 cents...it really depends on the kiddos! We have been living with our 2 boys, 2.5 years apart in a tiny room (9x6). The baby is a poor sleeper and my older son is a light sleeper. This amounts to poor sleep for us all. BUT, a lot of kiddos can make it! I think once my little one sleeps better at night, we'll try it again! There is a lot to be said for siblings who grow up in the same space...Best of luck to you!! Do Shared Toddler/Baby Rooms Work? I agree with Sarah...the overlap between blogs is too bad, because I too frequent them both. I do, however, think this couch is fabulous. The bones are really great...the fabric I love, but the combo is not really my taste. Love to see it in a decorated room... Oh Dear! Before & After of An Unexpected Upholstery Project Design*Sponge |

@SUMMILUX35, making things into what they are not is often a brilliant idea. That is the whole impetus behind the upcycle movement. Sometimes it works, other times not...when safety is an issue, forget the "look" of it and opt for something safer. But I think we should definitely keep on making old things new. for parents weary of their child falling out of bed, i saw a great idea the other day (http://s565.photobucket.com/albums/ss98/RainyDay1235/?action=view¤t=noodle.jpg)...put a pool noodle under the mattress pad near the edge of the bed! that creates a slightly raised barrier to help kiddos stay in. i thought it was ingenious! I am a mom and also on the board of the foundation that sponsors our local playgroup and other family oriented events. We are a small town (think less than 2k people), so having anything for families is huge. We average about 8 families a week and most of the time it is just moms. There are about 3 dads who have come in the past, but they are not regulars, although they fully participate when they come! I, personally, love when they come because it shows the other kids that dads do the "playgroup" thing too! Keep it up, your daughter will love these memories with you (once she's old enough to have them) and I'm sure your actions speak volumes to the other families too! what's not under my bed is more the question...there is a tub of keepsakes, 2 tubs of seasonal clothing, fishing poles, camp mats, my husbands hunting bow, and a dozen or so stacked paintings with no where to hang. we are seriously in need of more storage space! when we move into our new home this summer, i seriously hope to have nothing, NOTHING under there (for the first time ever). I had that alarm clock from elementary school until I finished college. Somehow after college it diappeared in the mix and I often wonder where it ended up. I even used to get excited every time it popped up in a movie, "I have that!!" Ahh, sweet nostalgia. Product Nostalgia: An Ode to the (Discontinued!) Sony Dream Machine |

well, both the other commenters said yes, and I would disagree. I bought a recliner to use with my first child and put it in the living room instead. We had a tiny nursery that didn't allow room for one. I loved the convenience of a piece of furniture that rocked when I needed it, but functioned more fully the rest of the time. If I ever had to nurse at night I did it lying in our bed, which was pretty comfortable for both of us! Is a Glider or Rocker a Nursery Necessity? Nesting a Nursery |

with our first child we had enough room to have a futon in the bedroom. i used it so much! i nursed on it, semi-napped while he played on the floor next to me, and even changed diapers on it. if i'd had the money, i would have invested in a stylish daybed! we didn't have it with our second baby and i missed it!
