I love your bathroom (its exactly what I want to do in mine). I also really like the idea of the floor tile coming up the wall in the kitchen.

Lovely. The paint colors and design detracts from the floor in a great way. Love the striped walls.

I must have misread the authors post because for the life of me I can't understand the intense anger people are showing. I think the fridge looks nice and its always useful to be reminded of simple low-cost solutions.

Two orange CB2 chairs. I still love the shape but I'm really hating the color. I wish they were dark blue.

Sometimes this is simply the best option.

I ended up with 12 ikea baskets above my cabinets (that go almost exactly to the ceiling). They hold all the things you need to keep but don't need regularly. LIke extra large containers of spices to refill the smaller containers, seasonal cookie cutters, international travel accessories and painting supplies. And frankly even if I didn't need the storage (which I do) it looks a lot better than fake plants or collections of junk. Why can't cabinets to the ceiling just be standard!

I've never understood why eating alone is a bad thing. I suppose I'd understand if it was an issue because you are always alone and eating in a restaurant is just one more occasion without friends or family but baring that case why is it so bad? Do you think people judge you? I can guarantee you people don't think about you that much. Eat alone. Enjoy your meal. Relax.

@gabbyshell - I think our cats must be related! My cat loves to wait until you can watch him urinate on the floor!

Um...that foil thing only works for some cats. We tried to best any angry and vindictive little furry angel from urinating in his favorite corner when we slighted him (ie: didn't pet him immediately when coming home) and not only would he gleefully urinate on the foil but he eventually discovered a way to move the foil up urinate and cover it with foil - our wood floors will never be the same. :(

Lovely. I especially love how the glass doors open into the backyard. And that roof!!! Wow, just wow.

So I have a question for the AT community:

I just bought a large nelson pendant (the crisis cross style) for over our dining room table and the issue I'm having is the best location for the table and the location of the lighing box don't line up. The ceiling box (sorry, I don't know the proper name) is a foot or so away from the spot the light should sit. So what are my options? I"ve called an electrician who quoted me $1000 to move the box and fix the ceiling (and something I especially what to do right now). Would doing a hook ruin the look of the light? Should I add a decorative cover plate over the spot the electricity comes out of? Should I buy a huge oversize decorative cover and try and cover the whole thing? Thoughts?

Oxi-Clean. Let it soak for a while (I normally let it soak for an hour or two for dirty whites).

Anyone who has it care to comment on its durability? This is something I've been considering for a while but I fear it will not age well.

Our cats are family members, as such they are entitled to enjoy any surface they want (with the exception of kitchen counter tops - yuck!). That said even if I didn't want them on the couch or bed it would be a pointless battle. Even locking the little devils out of the bedroom for a night often leads to a lovely "present" outside our bedroom door. And yes I have to vacuum daily :(

I'd skirt the bar table in the kitchen in something like a clean bright white fabric. If possible I"d make sure the place was painted bright white (not beige).
