Love those table legs... seem they are not available at French Ikeas. Strange, I thought they had the same things everywhere.

I lived in Asia for a while and over there, the rule is shoes off in any Asian house. In mine, people did as they pleased - usually, because of the heat, it was mostly barefoot... Now that I am back in Europe, shoes off is definitely a no-no, whether every day or party day. And like PLCH said, it's kind of rude to ask your guests to take their shoes off when they come in...

@Kiana1002... Not totally iranian, I'm French and have always done that! Especially with my Mom's homemade jams! So much better than all those artificial flavoured yogurts... My nieces and nephews see me as an alien for doing that...

I'm sorry, but to me this is definitely a no no. Shoe racks and other shoe storage units are already bad enough, I'm not going to put themup on display in any part of my apartment. My shoes are and will remain stored away in a closet.

Mrsbossa, I use the Ikea Skubb storage organizer for my shoes http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00193386/#/10185588. Each compartment fits one pair, with the exception of winter boots. Not owning as many pairs as you, I only have 4 units hanging in my entrance wardrobe, but it works nicely and I'm very happy about it.

Funny hows 800 sq.ft qualify as tiny by US standards! In France, and even the rest of Europe, houses between 800 and 1000 square are not that uncommon. Nevertheless this really is a cute little house, would love to see inside shots!

I've always loved that idea and the cosiness of it. I had a large table lamp on the kitchen counter in one of my previous rentals and it did a fantastic job in adding warmth to the place. The counter was all white-tiled that gave an awful hospital feel to it... The lamp, a corkboard with photos and notes, and a couple of small plants made a great breakfast corner!

Love the wall treatment! But I find it a shame that you didn't keep the original wash basin, only replacing the tap with another retro-style one, and looked for a less modern-looking toilet to match the basin style

Call me boring, but although I like the idea and the setup, I have a very practical / down to earth question : bathrooms? Where are they? Obviously not in the trailers. If shared with other clients, then thanks but no thanks. That's one place where I like to take my time, and especially like my privacy (who doesn't?)...

I maintain my bamboo butcher block with olive oil! I cut on it every day the oil does a great job, keeps the wood smooth and has darkened the color, giving it a nice patina.

why don't you check them as unaccompanied luggage with your airline. I did that when I moved out of Asia and paid $200 for a 100kg trunk. It arrived 3 days after me and I just had to pick it up at the airport.

Otherwise if you have heavy and bulky pieces, and are not in a hurry to get them, I would suggest getting quotes from movers. Forget UPS and other express carriers, their tariffs are prohibitive!
