such a great idea! since we're talking sustainable, though, i would recommend a stainless steel straw (rather than disposable plastic straw).

what a waste of plastic bags for something that is so simple to make! i cut up my fruit and veggies the night before and put them in the fridge in the blender cup so that all i have to do in the morning is blend it.

i am also trying to plan a room similarly (have not done it yet), and recently found a loft bunk at roomandboard.com (a little on the pricey side), which may give you the flexibility you want. the top bunk is low and the bottom is on locking casters. may not allow you to stagger, though but you can easily push the lower bed to be perpendicular to the upper at bedtime.

great idea! i bought a canvas and cut up my son's artwork to make a collage. came out really nice and is hanging as a piece of art in his room.

we have a small hallway, and we created a mini "gallery" for our son's art. the gallery grows for 6 months-1 year, and then i buy a cheap canvas from the art store and we create a collage from all the artwork in the gallery. we hang the collage in my son's room. they end up being really neat pieces of art.

- avocado, hummus and cheese sandwiches (you can change up your hummus every week by adding a roasted beet, roasted peppers, avocado, etc. the colors are fun, too)
- pasta salad
- blt (but with soy bacon)
- potato salad
- make your own veggie patties (ie, black bean and rice cake)

hope this is helpful!

supplement to the above post (get rid of diapers): happy dances, hoots and hollers after he successfully goes, and chocolate chips - one for number ones and two for number twos. bribery is key to potty training. my son was potty trained in a weekend at the age of 2 and 3 months.

in my experience, when water just sits in a stainless steel container for a few days, it ends up with a funky metallic taste.
