If you've got kids who are making frequent messes in the fridge, I can see this being a good solution. But honestly - if they're old enough to be getting into the fridge, they're probably old enough to learn how to not make a mess, or to clean it themselves.
Otherwise, totally wasteful. I only *need* to clean my fridge like every 3 months or so (I wipe down every week or so, etc, and I keep it relatively clean anyway) - this just isn't necessary! (And I have a messy husband and a preschooler, it's not like it's just me.)

Also worth mentioning - not all fridges have all-solid shelves. My top and middle shelves are both just wire bars, with the exception of the solid bit above the cheese drawer that's mounted under the middle shelf. So even if it were "needed" in my house - it wouldn't work.

Please just separate Ohdeedoh out from AT again. I like these posts and don't mind having them in here, but I am SO TIRED of the bitching about it. Good grief people. The porn one was out of line, IMO, but you can still JUST KEEP SCROLLING.

Yeah um what's up with this. I don't have a single problem with porn (love it, in fact), and I'm not on a work computer either. I just don't want this HERE. When I come to AT, I'm looking for couches and mirrors and stuff like that. I go to different places for my porn reading and this is just ... no.

Wish this was posted on MY city's craigslist! It's not at allll the color I'd choose, but I really like the detailed tucking on the back. If it is in good condition (sturdy frame, still comfortable), I'd definitely take it. If you're brave, try a DIY upholstering. Professional upholstering for that would probably be prohibitive.

I never EVER trust cookbooks, to be honest. I'm a bit more trusting of blog recipes actually - there's photos there, generally, showing me what's going on so I know what's what. Also I'm generally familiar with that blogger and have built up some trust in them.

Seriously, though. I understand why there is so much focus on the 30 minute meal thing and I know that some people really do need that, every day, but we don't ALL need fast meals. I'm not going to flip to the next page if it takes 45 minutes instead of 30. Just tell me honestly, so I know how much ACTUAL time I need here, instead of artificially shortening it to draw in the busy workday types.

I generally get Captain Morgan and Coke first at any new bar. With limes, if I'm feeling fancy. If I'm feeling particularly girly, I go for a Cosmo - they always know that one. And if it's been a long day? "Hey bartender, gimme a shot of that vodka right there."

I don't give much of a hoot about Mothers' Day, so I chose the "don't observe" option. I am forced to buy cards to mail to the 3 moms my husband and I have, but I do not want one from my husband or my daughter (she's only 3 anyway). I think it's rather silly, what we've made of it. A day to honor mothers is nice, like it was originally intended. This greetingcard bullsh*t though... ugh. I feel extorted. I think I'll buy a letterpress machine and start selling greeting cards at my Etsy shop. ;) Clearly there's money to be made.

If I were "forced" to choose a gift, it'd be the day off. But I don't want it as an obligatory MD thing. I just want hubby and child to go away and let me read some blogs in peace. Maybe with a plate of cookies and some Irish coffee?

1. I think a lot of my cohort (I'm on the older end of Y) wouldn't identify as "a gardener" because we associate the label with blue-haired old ladies.
2. Despite that, I think a lot of us do garden or would like to (space permitting). Flowers and veggies are nice.
3. Younger people who DO garden are, I think, much more likely to be into ORGANIC, or at least natural, gardening. We're not buying Scott's products, we're not buying from big-box stores. We get a cutting from Granny's apple tree; we get an heirloom tomato plant from the farmer's market.

Younger gardeners are out there, but we're off the grid.

Will it grow into a full celery like you'd purchase?

@Happix2joix2 - I have NEVER had any luck with the seeds from my purchased fruits/vegetables. Maybe if I could afford organic ones, lol, but I guess the ones I get just aren't fertile or something. I don't exactly have a green thumb though. It's not quite black... maybe brown.

Peroxide will remove blood stains from carpet. Once cut my foot on a shard of broken glass and managed to bleed on my bathroom rug (white, natch). I poured a bunch of peroxide on it; it bubbled predictably and I just picked up the bubbles with some TP. Did this a couple times, and then gave a little scrub with the last dose of peroxide. I still use that rug and even I can't tell you where the bloody spot was.

If the cleaning product you're using it in mainly needs it for scouring/scrubbing, definitely use it up. If you're going to use its fizzing properties (combine it with vinegar), test it first.

PS, great point, first comment! I don't keep a box in my fridge at all, and my mother does - oddly enough, I think *I* have the cleaner/better-smelling fridge. A box of anything isn't going to save you if you don't keep your fridge tidy.

Neighborly Behavior: Do You Share or Borrow Wi-Fi?

When I was in college (a christian university actually), living in their married-couple dorms, they decided to start providing crappier and crappier internet. I'm not sure why, other than their desire to control everything, but eventually we ALL got fed up. Just about every single one of my neighbors jumped ship and signed up with an outside company (I'm actually surprised we were able to). I was about to graduate though, and I couldn't sign a contract with a cable company. My nexties were kind enough to share with me. I offered to split the bill, but they wouldn't hear of it, haha.

/this relevant anecdote brought to you by "my husband and kid are out of the house and I have time to sit down and think about things."

Price is generally the highest concern in anything I buy. Quality is the only thing that I let trump it. Bulk almost always wins on both fronts. Wish it was more widely available in my area. I have to go to specialty stores for it, increasing the length of my errand-running (neither of these stores carry produce or meats, for example).

Natural light makes a HUGE difference to me. I have my husband open the curtain when he leaves for work (I'm a stay at home mom so no alarm clock for me). Makes waking up soooo much easier.

PS, I don't get all this keeping-phone-private-from-spouse stuff. My husband and I don't have any secrets, and frequently check each others' phones when a text comes in, at least to see who it is. We hardly ever actually get phone calls, lol. But seriously, it seems like one of us is always driving or cooking or putting our daughter in the bath, or left the phone wayy over there on that counter or whatever.
That's not to say that we actually read each others' texts. Me and my friends are nuts and half of what we say wouldn't make sense to him, and his texts are usually work-related (he's military) or from his mom (yikes). But seriously? Yeah I definitely don't care if he knows how many times Kako texts me, or even what she said. He's my husband, after all.

If the friend I'm with is one of my absolute bestest friends, AND if I know the person who is calling very well (her husband, for example, or one of our close mutual friends), then yes I might. Otherwise, HECK NO.
