@CMKT - I had the same question.

I have to say this piece did a nice job explaining how to cook bacon, a task so many people have told me they find daunting. Once you've done it a few times, you'll plop the bacon in the pan and turn around and do other stuff like prepare your omlette fillings or mix your pancake batter as the bacon cooks.

I keep my eggs out on the counter and it freaks people out! I love it. Never had a problem with eggs. I use them too quickly (I bake a lot and need room temp eggs anyway).

Salmonella is killed at such low temperatures it shouldn't even be a worry unless the eggs aren't cooked in your recipe (Thinkin' mayo here mostly).

I've noticed that Architectural Digest has made subtle changes since Margaret Russell left ElleDecor and took over AD. It seems lighter and airier and not as static as it once was. The featured interiors seem approachable but still deluxe. I don't know, AD is on watch as far as I'm concerned. I actually look forward to thumbing through it lately.

Did anyone ever get these one-off magazines put out by...was it House Beautiful? Anyway, the magazines were called Living Room. I think only three ever came out. Very pre-Ready Made and Dwell. Lots of what I like to call democratic design--thifted furniture, repurposed junk, and DIY projects. I still have my copies and look through them periodically for ideas and inspiration.

Taschen published some books years ago - Paris Interiors, New York Interiors, Berlin Interiors among others--great books! Great daydreaming and inspiration books.
