Before & After: TV Tray Table Gets Decked Out

I just sold that EXACT kitchen table on craigslist! It was in worse condition, and someone had painted the legs blue. We bought it 10 years ago in a thrift store for $10. I can't beleive I lived with it for that long, and I can't believe those awesome chairs went with the set!

You could use a natural twine or rope, instead.

You're posting this like it's some novel idea? Why don't you spend less time posting useless articles, and more time planning out the functionality of your site, so that we don't have to sift through the same articles over and over to find something new buried inside.

I'll repost just part of my deleted comment, for all you people having trouble with house tours:

Just open the tour in a new tab, so you dont lose your place. Then, you can click the actual picture itself, and it moves you to the next picture in the tour. Just like a facebook photo album.

Why don't you guys just open house tours and posts in a new tab? And then when you're done, you close the tab, and your apartment therapy page is right where you left it. And seriously, one of you who suggested forcing house tours to open in a new window is a web designer?? You must be some sort of a moron, because if you get lost looking through a house tour, you can't possibly design a decent site.

And, to everyone freaking out about the fonts. There are a very limited number of fonts that you can use on a website. There are work-arounds, of course, but most website stick to the same 12 or so typefaces. They could have picked georgia instead of times new roman, but whatever. get over it.

The issue here is their complete lack of understanding of form + function. Also, everybody these days is designing for the future. Everyone wants to make a site that looks good on an ipad. Well guess what! Not everybody reads your stupid site on an ipad. Do you know how long it would take to open each post and then go back to the main page on an ipad? Everything is getting bigger, more boxy, more ipad-friendly. And the site really does look better on an ipad. But, most people aren't on an ipad.

I'm not bothered by the design, by seriously, what were you thinking when you planned out the site map?

Obviously you've lived in your place so long that you take care of it as if it were your own. Nothing wrong with that. However, your problem is that you fail to realize that most people are not in your situation. Can you really not take yourself out of your own situation and see why what you said is wrong?

Most renters aren't in places longer than 1-3 years or so. Most renters are young and don't have any extra money to just go out and buy a fridge. To propose that idea as if it's normal just shows most of us readers how self-centered you are. Not everybody has the money to stock their fridge with precious steaks and haagen dazs ice cream! And most renters certainly aren't going to go out and buy a major appliance and say "oh well" when the landlord doesn't pay them back.

It's not all about you. MOST apartments dont have storage rooms at all, much less storage rooms that would fit a refrigerator. And MOST houses dont have basements, and MOST houses dont have room in garages to just stow our extra appliances, since we all just have tons of money to throw around on things we don't need.

And to make such an insolent and pretentious comment about people not having at least a couple month's worth of paychecks in the banks is totally unacceptable. Again, not everyone is as "fortunate" as you.

We've all painted a lovely picture of you as the pompous lady who looks down her nose toward those who arent as well off as her. Every additional comment you add only makes that picture more clear.
