My husband created a tomato soup recipe after noticing how much sugar is in regular tomato soup and he wanted it spicy and chunky. We love it but my daughter was coming home for a visit and she likes creamy tomato soup. We took a stick blender to his Zesty Pantry Tomato Soup and it made a wonderful creamy tomato soup and there is no dairy in it at all. Here is a Link to the recipe. I tested the idea with a plastic storage box from the closet. From that test I learned 2 things- yes, the solution worked for my husband, and I couldn't cut through the plastic with an xacto blade - much tougher than I thought. I purchased the boxes shown in the post at IKEA for $9.99. They were hugely affordable! Before & After: Wife Gets Creatively Crafty With Husband's Charging Corner |

All of these ideas are wonderful for organization of a few cables and I have incorporated some under my desk but what if you live with geek? Then there are many, many more cables. I developed a ziplock bag and duck tape organization system that works like a charm for keeping track of all the cables not currently in use but still "needed"! Check it out here. It has with stood the test of time. My husband can actually find the cable he needs now! Crafty Cable Management Using Everyday Household Items |

How about a wind chime in your apartment, designed to ring softly even though there is no wind? Check out David Roy's kinetic sculpture, Silver Song. It is relaxing, peaceful, melodic....and doesn't disturb the neighbors. You don't need to wait for a house in the country! The Most Bella Bells (Plus A Few Wind Chimes For Good Measure) |

My daughter and I created the companion piece to this fire station- the fire truck! Using PVC we turned a twin bed into a fire engine bed for my grandson. See the bed, complete with ladder side rails here, and the DIY steps here. He loves it! They beauty is that it can just slide off, and be disassembled when he no longer loves fire trucks. We even added LED bike lights so it has flashing lights on front. No sirens though! A parent needs to protect their sanity! :-) Make A Fire Station Play Tent Utah County Mom |

Makes me smile! Love it on many levels. I to have been working on the mitten dilemma and have blogged about it at http://www.ashbeedesign.com/2011/01/mitten-dilemma.html and shared some simple ideas there. Thought of the mailboxes but couldn't find any for recycling. Love the paint cans but I have vertical space not horizontal. I'd lose some of the functionality. I've been working on a design that includes a stepped ladder. I'll keep you posted. Hopefully it will be done before the snow flies next! Coathooks In The Can |
