eh. doesn't do it for me. And, no offense but, those kids need to get out in the fresh air.....never mind. It's totally unimpressive. The kitchen is so "Poggen Pohl" http://www.poggenpohl.de/ENG/315_ENG_HTML.htm but too uninteresting to me. Not enough 'touch' to it. I firmly believe that with less money, people are more creative and inspired.....

wow. reading through the comments, I was afraid I was the oddball in choosing #2. But then I see after viewing your larger pics, some others came around. I like #3 as well, but feel it is too 'dresser-y' for use as a credenza. Number 2 is believable, and very interesting, and should suit your credenza needs, e.g., silverware, table linens, platters, etc. Good luck. Very nice finds, but to tell you the honest truth, i really HATE #1, its very icky. lol.

As someone who is currently living in a rental house with same 'emerald green' (pure green, NOT blue green- I believe the photo is lying a bit, making it look bluer...) wall to wall carpet, let me say, I PRAY you don't have a WHITE dog that sheds a lot, like we do!!! Our landlord wouldn't let us change the carpet, even tho it is about 20 years old....ugh. If yours is in good shape, I think you can make it work if you are decorating from scratch. It's just hard to do when you have all your furniture from your last house to work with, and you JUST bought a mod true blue leather sectional....yeah. Imagine the horror....next place we get WILL have wood floors, or I'm not stayin....

I absolutely love that Italian drying cabinet, and we are certainly going to build one of those in the next apartment (June 08- Hoboken, 800sf Me, Hubby, 2 P/T College Age Daughters and 2 rambunctious dogs....sheesh!) - but for now, what we are doing, and have been doing for the last few apartments, is we hang a wire basket over the sink - or in the case of this last apartment, since there is a window over the sink, attach it to the windowsill with screws, almost like an old style bicycle basket. The dishes drain into the sink. We help to funnel the water into the sink with a dish rack 'tray' that you buy in Target made by like Rubbermaid or something. It sort of sits at an angle like a slide under the basket, and leans up against the faucets. Voila. No wasted space. We are getting pretty good at this, but I sure love the ideas I get on this blog!!!

I feel that apartment dwelling in cities does provide a lot of inspiration to become more efficient. And shame on those of you who say "Hey, a dishrack is only $10- I can throw it away and get a new one" when that old one just adds to our landfills. Don't buy it if you're just planning on throwing it out in a year or two!! Buy it or build it to last!

Thanks for the photo of the Italian cabinet, I really love it!
