Must be something wrong with me. I like the transformation. The house was dark and so-cosy-it-could-smother-you. Now it's full of light, which in and of itself is such a mood lifter.

As a considerate touch, leave a fresh roll of toilet paper and a new bar of soap for the next inhabitant. I've made it a tradition.

I've worked in retail for years and years... these policies unfortunately are common. Often it's to discourage employees from slightly damaging something in order to get it for themselves at a discount. Also, to discourage them from selling these pieces themselves. It's a shame, really.

I would probably be the one having to climb out to fetch the salt, bread, another glass of water..no thanks.
