Is there any software out there that will filter out any blogs with the words "CHALKBOARD PAINT"?

Agreed with dewi: keep it simple, and don't overpower the design of the chair with a busy fabric. The green actually looks really good, but I can understand if the fabric isn't in good condition and needs replacing. Whatever hue you end up with, stick with a medium value similar to the current green and the surrounding gray.

And DON'T "ebonize" the wood! That would destroy the design!

Realize that we're talking about different things here: color as it's perceived in real life; color as it's used (symbolically) in film -- which are not the same thing.

Also realize that specific colors can signify wildly different things depending on the culture, and at the same time there are some colors that tend to have more or less universal associations.

A symbolic statement in a film like "Amelie" may bear no resemblance to the way an American may use color in a room; vs., say, a Japanese person.

Didn't that rice cooker star in "Wall-E?"

Sorry, but the contact-paper-on-furniture thing is about as entry-level, grade-school-design as you can get. Not really worth posting about.

With a lamp that big, it's not really a nightstand anymore, is it? It's now a "lampstand." You can't even put an alarm clock on there, let alone a glass of water or a book. Kind of defeats the purpose.

Great pieces, but not together like this.

Many of you may know your decorating, but don't seem to know much about photography! There's no way that photo is from the 60's, let alone the 40's.

And why is it that whenever something is cute & clever, no matter how fugly (ship-o-lier), it gets so many "I'VE GOT TO HAVE THAT" responses? "Where can I get that ___ that looks like a ____? I must have that."

Sheesh.
